Now the papers that inspire artists' work can support it, too. This art board features Arches paper on rigid, archival backing. The paper is mounted on white, acid-free, lignin-free, archival conservation board, making the board both durable and enduring.
Arches Art Board is ready for framing without mounting, eliminating a step as well as the added expense. The art finished on acid-free paper is displayed and protected on two-ply, 1.2 mm archival conservation board, making self-preservation simple. Buffered, without optical brightening agents, and treated to resist mold, these boards are compliant to ISO 9706, the standard for permanent paper.
Arches Art Board is the ultimate choice for watercolor, gouache, or ink washes. It features a natural white, handmade French paper. Choose from cold press, hot press, or rough surface textures.

My absolute "go to" for design work
from Warrenville, IL
Comments about Arches Art Board:
I used the cold pressed variety. This behaves a lot like Arches cold pressed paper does (maybe better in my opinion). Big wet-into-wet watercolor washes, wet on dry detail work, thinned acrylics, inks - everything works very predictably on this support. I'm never fighting the surface. I've also lifted off paint without ever experiencing any tearing or debris.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I'd definitely purchase Arches Art Board again.
Initially used to make paint color charts, but discovered the practicality and convenience for plein aire painting.
I am LOVING this Art Board! New favorite for watercolors!

I purchased this Art Board for painting watercolors. I have used Arches Blocks for years but have found a new favorite. It holds up to erasing pencil lines and absorbs the watercolor paint very well and holds it's shape (doesn't warp) I simply Love it!
from New York
Great product for any medium however, I prefer to use it with graphite in my military drawings
So far so good, which is to say I am impressed thus far.
from NE Ohio
I am using this for ink wash work, and am up to about 5 layers with probably 2 more (broad) to go along with final detail work. I may end up working in some pastel too, so we'll see how that works. It warps right off (note: most of the boards were hit with a light wash all over), but the warping is quite minimal and not obstructive at all; I expected warping, so I do not consider this a negative. No wrinkling or the like; this board is quite thick. It has also endured some pencil and erasure too, so overall, it is pretty tough stuff. As this is a 5'x5' project, I believe it will work just as hoped. Can't ask for more than that.
LOVE THE TEXTURE

Love how the paper holds watercolor. If your putting masking tape on it, it peels off very easily without pulling any paper off. This has been my favourite watercolor art board for years.

I love the extra support

All the advantages of using Arches paper and none of the detriments of paper in general. I love not having to stretch and secure larger sheets of paper. It holds moisture well and the texture is just what it ought to be. If I get it extremely wet, it will bow, but it's easy to bow it back into its proper shape. I can also spray with archival varnish and frame my art without glass if I like.
Luxurious, perfect paper for drawing w/ any style or medium!

I use the paper to draw both abstract and realistic pieces. It's smooth but has lots of tooth and erases well when necessary. I wish it came in larger sizes. It's a glorious paper.
