Orders Shipped Outside of the 48 Contiguous States

Shipping charges for orders shipping to AK, HI, PR, VI, the Pacific Territories, and APO/FPO addresses, regardless of order total or weight, will require a freight quote. The shipping charge will show up as TBD (To Be Determined) within your order. We value all of our customers, so if your order reaches the free shipping threshold of $69 or more, you will receive a $7.95 credit towards the cost of your quoted shipping charge. We will contact you with a shipping quote within 24-48 hours of placing your order, and we will not ship your order without your approval. After approval, your order will be shipped via FedEx 2 Day or USPS Priority Mail. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

These shipments are expedited during the order process and must be placed before 2:30 p.m. CST to receive next business day or second business day service. Orders placed after 2:30 p.m. CST will ship the next business day and thus will require one extra day for delivery. For items shipped directly from the factory (FOB), please add an additional day for processing. You will receive an order tracking number via email when your order has been processed.

Residential Orders

Residential orders within the 48 contiguous states will ship either via FedEx Home Delivery, FedEx Economy, or USPS First Class within 1–2 business days of receipt of your order and will be delivered within 2–7 business days. The carrier used is determined after an order is placed and depends on the merchandise ordered and the delivery address. If your postal address is different from your physical address, please provide both.

Blick uses FedEx Economy for most residential deliveries. This service uses your local post office for the final mile to your home or to your PO Box. If you prefer FedEx Home Delivery Service, select it as an option during checkout. A small $2 surcharge will apply, regardless of order total. FedEx Home Delivery orders are shipped within one business day of receipt. Expected delivery will vary depending on your location’s zone. Orders placed on weekends or holidays will ship the next business day.

Business Orders

Business orders shipping to a physical address within the 48 contiguous states will normally ship via FedEx Ground within 1–2 business days of receipt of your order. Orders for schools and institutions will ship via FedEx Ground within 2–3 business days of receipt. This may be longer during peak times such as back to school. Orders will be delivered within 1–5 days after shipping. Most stock orders will ship FedEx whenever possible; however, oversized or overweight orders may ship via freight line. In those cases average transit times will be extended and a delivery signature is required.

FedEx orders can be tracked while in transit. Tracking numbers will be sent to you in a confirmation email when our order ships.

Free Shipping

Merchandise orders totaling $69 or more ship freight-free via FedEx Economy or USPS First Class whenever possible. Gift Card purchases do not apply to Free Shipping offers based on merchandise totals and are exempt from contributing. Free Shipping does not apply to Expedited, Fast2Day, or Overnight Express Shipping. Oversized or overweight orders will ship via a freight line. In those cases, the free freight offer includes curbside delivery only. Additional services performed at the time of the delivery such as lift gate and inside delivery will incur additional charges. The average transit times will be extended for freight line deliveries and a delivery signature is required.

Exceptions: Additional shipping charges will be added to factory-direct shipments, international orders, and shipments to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and U.S. Territories. Certain stocked items that are oversized or overweight incur additional carrier fees and may be billed an additional handling charge. These stocked items include some furniture, equipment, easels, and shelters; stretched canvas and other surfaces 36”x 36” and larger; any combination of clay, plaster, sand, and molding material totaling 50 lbs or more. Items requiring additional handling will be marked as such on the product page with oversized or truck shipment icons. When the item is added to the shopping cart, an estimated handling fee will display below the price of the item. When ordering sheets of paper or board larger than 18” x 24” in quantities of less than 10, a per order handling fee will apply.

Gift Cards

Gift Cards ship free of charge via First Class mail. Additional charges will apply for two-day and overnight delivery. Gift Card purchases do not apply to Free Shipping offers based on merchandise totals.

Factory-Direct (FOB)

Items that ship directly from the factory require special handling and will incur charges specific to each destination. If only one factory shipped item is ordered, the charges stated on the website will apply. If multiple items are ordered and/or truck shipment is required, our Drop Ship Specialists will contact you prior to shipping to discuss delivery options and charges. Some factory shipped items are not eligible for express shipping. Expected ship dates are provided for factory direct items in the shopping cart. Items will invoice or bill when they ship.

Truck Shipment

Truck shipment delivers your order to your curb or dock. The charge varies based on distance, weight, bulk, and other factors. While all carriers establish their own rates for delivery, our shipping department selects the best carrier based on service, price, and availability. A physical address and phone number are required for delivery. The minimum charge to a commercial address is approximately $200. For an additional $45 charge, a smaller truck with a lift gate will lower your merchandise from the truck to the ground. For certain zip codes in NY and NJ, the lift gate fee is $75. For an additional $30 charge, your order can be moved from the curb to a ground-level location just inside your door. Delivery drivers cannot move items up or down stairs or to a specific location. Uncrating and disposing of packing materials is not included.

Consolidating two or more orders should be considered to make the most of the minimum charge. Schools should allow three weeks delivery time for truck shipment orders placed between July 1 and September 10.

Inspecting Your Order

When receiving a delivery from Blick, count your parcels, open all product packaging, and compare your shipment against the packing slip before signing the delivery receipt.

To Report Damage

If a parcel, product, or product packaging is damaged, make a note of the type of damage on the delivery receipt and have the delivery driver sign the receipt. Call Blick Customer Service immediately at 800-723-2787 to report the damage, or email custservice@dickblick.com. (International customers, email blickinternational@dickblick.com.) Be sure to save any damaged products or packaging for inspection purposes. Please note, Blick must notify its carriers within 15 days of delivery, or the carrier may not accept responsibility for the damage.

Notes on Shipping Charges

Due to occasional carrier rate increases, the shipping rates shown above may differ from the rates that appear in previously published catalogs. Currently, we offer FREE SHIPPING for merchandise orders totaling $69 or more with some exceptions. Shipping rates are subject to change without notice.

Regardless of shipping method, a physical address is required. USPS Parcel Post is available only if you have no physical address (i.e., a PO Box), and FedEx Ground charges will apply.

Any order shipping outside of the continental 48 states may incur additional shipping charges. Read more about International Shipping.

US Postal Service

Orders shipping to APO/FPO addresses, along with Alaska, Hawaii, Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and US Pacific Territories are shipped via the US Postal Service. Please allow additional time for delivery.

Third-Party Shipping Note

Due to our long history of significant shipping volume, Blick has already negotiated very favorable shipping terms with major nationwide carriers for small and large orders, as well as offering free shipping on orders that meet our minimum dollar requirements. Therefore, it is rarely advantageous to our customers for us to work through a third-party shipping consultant.

International Shipping

International orders ship via International Priority Mail and FedEx. The method and cost are determined by items ordered, weight, size and destination. Some items cannot ship outside of the U.S, including hazardous or flammable materials. Notification will be given if this applies. Free shipping does not apply on international orders.

Once shipping charges are calculated, an email will be sent to you for approval within 2-3 business days. If email is not available, the charges will be faxed or phoned. A response is requested within 7 days of receiving our notification. Orders do not ship without approval, and can be cancelled up until that time. A phone number is required for delivery.

The recipient is responsible for any taxes, duties, or brokerage fees. These cannot be estimated prior to shipping. We are unable to remove pricing from documents as the correct value must be provided. We do not mark packages as gifts or samples, all prices will be shown for custom clearance.

We do not ship electrical items outside of North America or to freight forwarders, as all electrical products we carry are wired for use within the U.S. only.
