A dense, heavy-bodied acrylic paste, Utrecht Modeling Paste Extender can be mixed with acrylic colors for impasto techniques or applied straight from the jar to create textured grounds. For budget-minded artists, it also makes an economical extender that makes acrylic colors go further. It can also be used as a collage adhesive where transparency is not essential (not suitable for use as a transfer medium). Straight from the jar, it dries to a white, opaque finish.

When applied straight from the jar, it dries to a slightly ''frosted'' appearance. It can be used to increase paint volume for economical, broad coverage and also makes an excellent transfer medium and collage adhesive.

Utrecht Illuminating Medium is a light-bodied acrylic medium that increases the chromatic intensity of acrylic colors of all opacities. Use it to enhance focal points or to produce a greater effect of light overall. This unique medium can be added in incremental ratios to achieve the level of heightened illumination you are seeking. Generally, refractive magnification can be increased by up to 40% (in most cases, depending on pigment type or mixture) without compromising color saturation.
