New Masters Acrylic Gel Mediums - Front of Heavy Gloss Gel Medium Jar

Old Holland New Masters Gessos are universal lightfast primers for use on a variety of surfaces, including canvas, cotton, paper, and stone. They can be diluted with water, up to a maximum of 20%.   Apply them in multiple layers, with 3 to 4 hours of drying time between layers. They are suitable as a primer for acrylics, oils, watercolors, and egg tempera, and can be mixed with all New Masters Classic Acrylics colors.

New Masters Classic Acrylics are the realization of a dream held by Professor Theo  de Beer , Old Holland's late owner, to develop a line of acrylics and acrylic mediums that would be used today by the &quot;New Masters&quot; of art, just as Old Holland oil paints were used by the Old Masters.   This line was developed specifically to complement Old Holland's existing oil and watercolor ranges, yet incorporate the finest new pigments available today. A pure acrylic binder sourced from a &quot;boutique&quot; European manufacturer, while more costly, imparts a unique characteristic to these paints, ensuring excellent adhesion, color retention, and working properties.   The combination of high pigment load and a proprietary binding system results in colors that uniquely exhibit the characteristics of the individual pigments. They dry to a satin gloss and offer minimum brush drag, making them ideal for a variety of techniques, from  high-build  impasto to  ultra-thin  glazing.   Other hallmarks of the New Masters line include the absence of extenders or fillers and minimal  wet-dry  color shift. Plus, they're virtually indistinguishable in color strength, brilliance, and intensity from the oil color range that is the basis of the Old Holland heritage.   Extensive development, consultation with professional artists, and years of field trials have resulted in a selection of opaque and transparent colors that include a range of metallic, pearlescent, iridescent, and interference colors.

New Masters Classic Acrylics were developed specifically to complement Old Holland's existing oil and watercolor ranges. Paints dry to a satin gloss and offer minimum brush drag, making them ideal for a variety of techniques.

New Masters Retarder Gel Mediums - Front of 500 ml Jar

All New Masters gel mediums can be mixed with New Masters Classic Acrylics and other New Masters Mediums. Since New Masters Gel Mediums are based on a proprietary binding system, it is recommended that testing be done before mixing them with other manufacturers&rsquo; acrylic paints or mediums.   This gel slows the drying time of acrylic paints. It has the same viscosity as the New Masters Classic Acrylics. For best results, add no more than 10% retarder to acrylic paint.

All New Masters varnishes increase the chemical and physical resistance of acrylic paints, and protect them from ultraviolet light, increasing the durability of the painting. To use, first ensure that the surface to be treated is clean. Apply the varnish using a brush.   New Masters UV Resistant Varnishes contain a petroleum distillate. They are removable painting varnishes with a cyclohexanol base. Do not dilute them or mix them with water.
