Artfix Oil Primed Linen Canvas by the Yard is woven from long-staple 100% linen with superb archival characteristics. Much more resistant to stretching and sagging than cotton, it preserves the natural tooth oil painters rely on for expressive brushwork.

Artfix’s proprietary oil priming recreates the luminous depth and absorbency of traditional lead-based priming without the toxicity. Color settles into the surface, building color from within. Glazes glow, layered passages develop dimension, and tonal transitions display a distinctive warmth.

Each canvas receives two to four coats of primer, hand-applied and sanded between layers. Sold by the yard for custom sizing and large-scale work. Handcrafted in Provence for over sixty years, Artfix is France's last traditional canvas manufacturer. The company holds EPV (Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant) certification, a French government distinction recognizing rare artisanal expertise. Picasso, Chagall, and Francis Bacon all painted on Artfix canvas.



## L84C, Quadruple Primed, Extra Fine, 85" x 1 yd  
An extra-fine linen with a very high thread count and an exceptionally smooth, uniform surface. Four coats of oil primer make it especially well suited to portraiture, glazing, and precise detail. 13.5 oz primed weight; 5 oz pre-primed weight.


## L64C, Quadruple Primed, Fine, 85" x 1 yd  
A dense, fine linen with an even grain and very tight weave. Four coats of oil primer create a smooth, controlled surface that suits detail work and more deliberate handling. 16 oz primed weight; 6 oz pre-primed weight.


## L21C, Double Primed, Medium, 85" x 1 yd  
A strong linen with a tight weave and a familiar medium texture. Two coats of oil primer ensure regular absorption and a responsive surface for varied brushwork. 12.5 oz primed weight; 4.5 oz pre-primed weight.


## LC1C, Double Primed, Medium, 85" x 1 yd  
A mid-strong linen with a tight, consistent weave and a balanced medium grain. Two coats of oil primer create an even, reliable surface suited to all oil techniques. 14.5 oz primed weight; 7 oz pre-primed weight.


## L31C, Double Primed, Medium Fine, 85" x 1 yd  
A medium-fine linen with a soft, tight weave and a medium-smooth texture. Two coats of oil primer favor glazes and support refined oil painting and portraiture. 13 oz primed weight; 5.5 oz pre-primed weight.


## L34C, Quadruple Primed, Medium Fine, 85" x 1 yd  
A dense, medium-fine linen with a tight weave and a semi-smooth surface. Four coats of oil primer give it the firmness and support needed for impasto and successive layers. 16.5 oz primed weight; 5.5 oz pre-primed weight.


## L42C, Double Primed, Coarse, 85" x 1 yd  
A coarse linen with heavier threads, a tight weave, and pronounced tooth. Two coats of oil primer provide strong grip for murals, large-scale work, and expressive brushwork. 18 oz primed weight; 9 oz pre-primed weight.


## L92C, Double Primed, Double Thread Coarse, 85" x 1 yd  
A double-thread coarse linen with a dense, heavy weave and bold texture. Two coats of oil primer give it the strength and grip needed for murals, large-scale work, and pronounced material effects. 19.5 oz primed weight; 10.5 oz pre-primed weight.
