Art Spectrum Colourfix Optimum boards are premium, high-density foam boards that are screen printed by hand with a lightfast, sanded acrylic gesso. Superb for use with pastels, oil colors, acrylics, inks, gouache, watercolors, and dry media such as charcoal and pencils, they offer a robust, toothy surface that will hold multiple layers of media. 

The secret that separates this board from all others is a super thin layer of aluminum within the board that prevents warping and helps preserve this substrate’s lightweight and sturdy characteristics. Made from ethically sourced, 100% virgin wood pulp, these plein air boards are archival, acid-free, and ready to be framed with no backing board required. Each Optimum Board is extremely lightweight, weighing just over 6 oz.

Boards are available in a variety of lightfast colors, all with the Original Colourfix tooth.

Ideal for artists looking for a less toothy pastel surface!   Art Spectrum Colourfix Smooth Pastel Paper has a surface that is less abrasive than Colourfix Coated Pastel Paper. Developed in part with the manufacturers of PanPastel Artists' Painting Pastels, Colourfix Smooth still holds multiple pastel layers but in a more gentle fashion. What's more, the surface won't cause excessive damage to PanPastel Sofft tools or fingertips (when used for blending).   Colourfix Smooth Pastel Paper can be used successfully with practically all media &mdash; pastels, charcoal, pencils, oils, acrylics, gouache, inks, silverpoint, and even watercolor. The smooth yet toothy surface is ideal for pastels, pencil, or charcoal, as it will hold multiple overlays of color without the need to fix between layers.   The unique, fine tooth surface is produced by screen printing Art Spectrum Colourfix acrylic primer onto a heavyweight watercolor paper. The absence of fixative allows the velvet bloom and vibrant pastel colors to be preserved. Apply a final light spray of fixative if desired.   Available in a variety of lightfast colors, this paper is acid-free. It weighs  230 lb (340 gsm) .

It's called &quot;Colourfix&quot; because this very permanent, lightfast coated paper withstands all manner of artistic experimentation. Art Spectrum Colourfix Original Coated Pastel Paper has a medium toothy surface that will hold multiple layers of pastel, charcoal, or chalk without needing fixative between the layers. The absence of fixative allows the velvet bloom and vibrant color of pastel to be preserved. 

The unique, surface is produced by screen printing Art Spectrum Colourfix Primer onto a heavy weight Hot Press watercolor paper. The 140 lb (300 gsm), acid-free surface will also withstand sanding, scrubbing, soaking, and being reworked. These papers are used successfully in practically all media&nbsp;&mdash; pastels, charcoal, pencil, oils, acrylic, gouache, inks, silverpoint, and even watercolor.

Art Spectrum Colourfix Original Coated Pastel Paper is a very permanent, lightfast coated paper that withstands all manner of artistic experimentation. These papers are used successfully in practically all media.
