Charcoal Paper and Pads
Charcoal paper is best described as any art paper with a slight tooth or texture that grips and holds onto charcoal particles when they’re applied to artwork. These papers can also be used with pastels, chalk, pencils, crayons, certain paints, and other drawing media, or whenever a textured surface is desired.
Because of the many types of charcoal now available — natural vine charcoal, willow charcoal, compressed charcoal, charcoal pencils, liquid charcoal, charcoal powder, watersoluble charcoal, white charcoal, and more — charcoal drawing paper is now available in a variety of colors and in convenient charcoal pads. Choose lighter colored or toned papers for darker charcoal shades, and darker papers for light-colored charcoal, white charcoal, and other dry media, including metallic pencils, oil pastels, and crayons. These versatile papers can really make your artwork pop!
