This easy-to-use silicone rubber compound is perfect for first-time silicone users who don’t have specialized mold-making equipment. Smooth-On Oomoo has a convenient one-to-one by volume mix ratio, so no scale is necessary.
Suitable for a variety of art-related and industrial applications such as making molds for sculpture and prototype reproduction, casting plaster, resins, and wax, both Oomoo 30 and Oomoo 25 have a low viscosity that assures easy mixing and pouring, usually eliminating the need for vacuum degassing. Both cure at room temperature with negligible shrinkage and have good tear strength.
Oomoo 25 is a faster version, with a 15-minute pot life and a 75-minute cure time. It has a soft 25A Shore hardness.
Oomoo 30 is a slightly harder version, with a 30A Shore hardness. It has a 30-minute pot life with a six-hour cure time.

Very impressed so far

Comments about Smooth-On Oomoo 30 Silicone:
I used this to make some concrete candle holders, my original was made out of plaster, and The final pieces are made out of countertop concrete. I didn't need to use any kind of mold release. I did however tear the mold a little trying to get it out of my container, and I didn't make one wall as thick as I should have, so I just have to support the outside of the mold with something solid. The amount of silicone you get is fair for the price in my opinion. I have not compared it to other brands, but I am content because I didn't see any noticeable shrinkage.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I used this product to make robber molds for casting clear resin mini mugs. They all came out really well and the mold is still easily usable even after 20 or so castings!

Oomoo Great for Precision Work
from Wilmington, NC
I've used Smooth-On for a number of soap and candle molds over the years with consistent results. Maintains crisp details and rubber stands the test of time with no break down. The work time is adequate for covering a prototype, as long as set up is done prior to mixing. I find it easiest to remove from natural items by coating them in a couple layers of satin glaze and/or mold release first.

Oomoo 25 is a great tool to have and is great for beginners!
from Cincinnati, OH
This stuff is great for beginners! A long curing time which helps with those just starting out. I recommend really measuring the volume your molds need instead of just estimating. Silicone can get pricey quickly. Trust me. You don't want to waste this stuff. I've made a lot of my own mistakes, luckily oomoo 25 is quite forgiving for beginners!
Oomoo is Superb

I use Oomoo silicone rubber for all my molding needs. It is very strong, good quality and priced right. I love it!!. 5 stars from me!
from San Diego
This molding material picks up details well, but tends to creep into any and all crevices despite my efforts in sealing spaces off. That being said, I am still learning to use this, and for a beginner it is very forgiving.
I use it all the time, and it's great
Blick is always easy to order from, and the product is first class.
Excellent Product If Used In The Right Situation
I posted an earlier review a year or two ago, when I posted that, I said nothing but good things after using the product for 6-8 months, but have since found a negative, but one that you can work around. When I first started using OohMoo 30, I had excellent results for many, many pours. Very flexible and offering exceptional detail. But after using for that time, I started noticing in certain detailed area's of my castings, every once in awhile an air bubble would show up that was just under the surface. I love this silicone because of it's flexibility and for the reasonable cost. So, I went out and purchased a chamber and vacuum pump. I must say I had no idea there could be such great results. These days, nothing but exceptional molds and for the past year no problems whatsoever, and I have purposely used these molds more so I could compare it apples to apples.A brand new vacuum chamber is absolutely worth the money and will help you produce top quality molds, definately invest in one! They are very easy to use....Also, last fall after purchasing a few silicone kits from DickBlick, FedEx delivered it to the wrong address. far as I know it's still sitting on someones porch somewhere! But when I called, they were very nice, apologized for inconveniencing me, and immediately sent out my order a second time, which arrived quickly at no extra charge. I sincerely appreciate that kind of quality service! A huge thank you to the Dick Blick chain for that...
