- Skin-safe alginate powder for making molds
- Formulated without crystalline silica
- Blends easily with water at a 1:1 ratio
- Demold in as little as eight minutes
- 3 lb bag, enough for several molds

Smooth-On Alja-Safe gives artists and hobbyists a simpler, safer way to create finely detailed molds of hands, feet, and small-to-medium models of all types. Made from seaweed extract, the powdery material is formulated without crystalline silica so you can breathe easier, too. It's ideal for casting reproductions in plaster, wax, clay, and more.

Its fast-curing properties enable you to work vertically or horizontally. To make a mold, mechanically blend the alginate powder with warm water at a 1:1 ratio and pour it around or apply it to the model you want to replicate. Once mixed, the gel-like substance provides about five minutes of working time, which can be extended by using cooler water. It cures in as little as eight minutes, allowing for quick turnaround on casting projects. Made in the USA.
