Lightweight and easy to handle, Royal Langnickel Zen brushes are optimized for a smooth and accurate brushstroke.
Appropriate for all media, the synthetic multi-diameter filaments in these brushes form excellent points and chisel edges, while the acrylic handles have a unique silver mirror finish that is durable, waterproof, and easy to clean. The handles won't crack or peel when left in water.
Bright and Flat — A Bright is a short flat brush that absorbs less color and has a stiffer stroke. A Flat is longer than a Bright and is consequently more flexible at the tip.
Brush sizes — The length and width of a brush of a given shape and size may vary by manufacturer as brush sizes are not standardized. Since fine art brushes are handmade, expect some variation even among brushes from within a single brush line.

My new favorite

Comments about Royal & Langnickel Royal Langnickel Zen Brushes:
I love the handles being made of metal and not made of: flaking-off-paint-because-I-forgot-my-brush-in-water-again. I also love love love the stiffness of the bristles. They hold their shape and the price makes this even better. I bought several because I've been hard on brushes in the past and was worried I'd thrash these also. I've done several paintings with my first brush and it's still holding it's shape. I'm all for spending money if the quality can stand up to my wear and tear. I've learned over the years that just because something is expensive does NOT mean it will last. Each person has different ways of using things. I went through an expensive brush before I had even finished a small painting. My pocket book whimpered. I decided to try several different brands and this is the one I've came back to. I also buy from Blick because their customer service is fantastic.

I LOVE these!
from la crosse, wi
These brushes are perfect for acrylics. and is it my imagination, or did they just increase their choices of sizes and shapes? I just love how they handle paint. They don't feel cheap even though they're very inexpensive. Plus, I like how cool they look.

Comments about Royal Langnickel Zen Round:
I bought a Zen R&L sz 6 round and hadn't used it until last nice. the first time i put it in some mixed paint/water. I could literally see it suck it up. a size 6. I was shocked. gonna order some more rounds.

These brushes are definitely my favorite. I do dot painting and getting the right tool is really important. The price is great and they last a decent amount of time for the work I put them through. Blick also sends them out fast so I dont have to wait long if I get behind in reordering. I doubt I'll change to any other brand.

They have got to find another method besides STICKERS!
By Prairieland Painter
I love the brushes and am a HUGE fan of the brand for both watercolor and water friendly oils. They have a great spring, clean well, and take a beating. The handles are comfortable in the hand and also have a bit of spring.I dinged it one star for the darn distracting bright white stickers (Zen brushes are deep steel color) and yes, you can remove the stickers, but then you get to deal with sticky residue. It's an issue that always drives me bonkers!

I bought two Oval Wash brushes in sizes 1 and 1/2, and so far they have been really nice! The brushes both pick up and hold watercolor very well and haven't left any bristles behind on the page, a problem I notice with cheap brushes. The deals on this site are fantastic, as you get quality items at great prices, so score one for a starving artist!

These have been great! The brushes are very soft but retain their shape and snap. I have been very abusive to this set and they keep returning to their original shape, hold a great paint load, and are very smooth on the canvas. Very happy I bought these.
Really like these
They have held their shape so far and snap back to like new. I use them for acrylic paints and they have a really good paint load and feel smooth on the canvas. The handles are a little big for my liking, but still comfortable.

I really like these brushes. All of them. The quality is very good for the price. I intend to replace all my brushes with Zen. Comfortable handles, easy to clean and works well with acrylics. I blend alot and these and don't leave brush strokes like my others.
Excellent for continuous use while maintaining the rigidity
