Simple, smooth, and a joy to use, the Pilot Kakuno makes fountain pens accessible to everyone. “Kakuno” means “to write” in Japanese, and that’s exactly what this pen helps you do.

A cute smiley face on the nib visually guides correct alignment—if it’s facing up, you’re holding the pen at the right angle. The lightweight resin body and triangular, pencil-like grip feel natural in the hand, keeping fingers comfortably and correctly in place. Well-designed nibs, available in Extra-Fine to Medium line widths, offer controlled ink flow and smooth, skip-free writing.

With a range of playful and translucent colors, there’s a Kakuno for every creative. Each pen includes a black ink cartridge to get you started right away. It also fits the Pilot CON-40 converter (sold separately), allowing it to grow with you as you transition to bottled inks.
