  • Seamless transparent barrel and grip
  • Threaded anodized aluminum cap with linear engraving
  • Premium JoWo #6 steel 1.1 mm Stub nib
  • Large 2 ml reservoir; secure Lock-It piston fill system

Thoughtfully designed for those who find quiet satisfaction in a pen that works beautifully, the Monteverde MP1 Fountain Pen was created to mark the brand’s 25th anniversary. As Monteverde’s first piston-fill fountain pen, it stands as a milestone in modern pen design.

The transparent barrel and grip are machined from durable, high-strength polycarbonate resin, giving the MP1 a smooth, balanced feel. Inside, the Lock-It piston system draws ink directly from the bottle into a clear 2 ml chamber, then locks securely in place. The result: clean fills, consistent flow, and dependable performance wherever you write.

Fitted with a steel #6 JoWo 1.1 mm Stub nib, the MP1 delivers crisp horizontal strokes and broad, expressive verticals, adding character and rhythm to every word. Precision-ground in Germany, this nib balances sharp definition with a soft, fluid glide—ideal for calligraphy, journaling, or signatures that deserve attention. Monteverde’s plasma-treated feed keeps the ink stream even and reliable, ensuring smooth starts and steady flow across every page.

A threaded anodized aluminum cap engraved with refined linear detailing completes the design. The MP1 arrives in a sleek, minimalist gift box— The anodized aluminum cap threads smoothly and features fine linear engraving for a clean, modern look. Each MP1 arrives in a minimalist gift box—an honest reflection of its balanced design and purpose.

How to Fill the MP1:

  1. Pull the piston knob outward until it clicks to release.
  2. Turn the knob counterclockwise to lower the piston.
  3. Immerse the nib in ink, then turn the knob clockwise to draw ink into the chamber.
  4. Align the dots on the piston knob and the barrel ring. To lock, press the knob down until it clicks securely into place.
