• Monteverde’s first piston-fill fountain pen—25 years in the making
• Seamless transparent barrel and grip
• Threaded anodized aluminum cap
• Fine JoWo #6 steel Omniflex nib
• Large 2 ml reservoir; secure Lock-It piston fill system

The MP1 represents a new chapter in Monteverde’s history—the brand’s first piston-fill fountain pen, created in celebration of its 25th anniversary. Designed for writers who value precision and dependability, it embodies Monteverde’s legacy of craftsmanship and innovation.

Its transparent barrel and grip are crafted from luminous, high-strength polycarbonate resin, offering a smooth, balanced feel in the hand. Inside, the Lock-It piston system draws ink directly from the bottle into a clear 2 ml chamber, then locks firmly in place. The result is a pen that fills cleanly, seals securely, and delivers steady, reliable performance wherever inspiration strikes.

Each MP1 houses the latest steel #6 JoWo Omniflex nib, crafted in Germany with precision-cut openings that create controlled flexibility while preserving the nib’s strength. Under light to moderate pressure, it produces expressive strokes up to twice the standard line width, blending the nuance of a flex nib with the reliability of stainless steel. The newly rounded breather hole enhances ink flow and reinforces structural integrity, allowing the nib to recover smoothly between strokes. Monteverde’s plasma-treated feed keeps the ink stream steady and uniform, eliminating skips or blots even during rapid writing.

A threaded anodized aluminum cap with engraved with fine linear detail completes the design. The MP1 arrives in a sleek, minimalist gift box—perfect for writers who refuse to compromise on form or function.

How to Fill the MP1:

  1. Pull the piston knob outward until it clicks to release.
  2. Turn the knob counterclockwise to lower the piston.
  3. Immerse the nib in ink, then turn the knob clockwise to draw ink into the chamber.
  4. Align the dots on the piston knob and the barrel ring. To lock, press the knob down until it clicks securely into place.
