Escoda Barroco Toray Gold is perhaps the finest quality soft to medium synthetic fiber available for artists.
Slightly stiffer than the Toray white, it keeps an excellent point and edge for a soft, yet controlled application. For increased longevity, Escoda cures each brush increasing the spring and resilience of the hair.
The short, green lacquered wood handle is triple crimped to the nickel-plated brass ferrule. The nylon filaments vary in diameter to allow for a more natural point and appearance.
The "Cat's Tongue" is a pointed filbert with more edges than the typical, almond shaped filbert. Popular in Europe, it allows you to create lines and points with different weights.
Brush sizes — The length and width of a brush of a given shape and size may vary by manufacturer as brush sizes are not standardized. Since fine art brushes are handmade, expect some variation even among brushes from within a single brush line.
Long and Short Handles — Long handles are recommended for easel style painting, while short handles are recommended for table-top painting where the artwork lies flat, especially with water media.

These brushes helped me bring my painting to the next level. The long handle and tiny head of the brush allow for excellent control in painting small details, like rims of bowls, and bits of reflections. Highly recommend.

Nice points, nice price

Bought these not knowing what other Escoda synthetics were available. Priced competitively. Stiffer hairs like most synthetics. Appear to be very durable. I like the nice point. We'll see how they wear.

Have only used this once but it performed well on scratchboard with ink washes. Nice and smooth. Holds volumes of water.
