Akua Intaglio Release Agent is a multi-purpose product for use with Akua Liquid Pigments and Akua Intaglio Inks. Use it to print a second lighter version of your first print, create high shine with Akua metallic inks, or ease the release from plate to paper when printing with a Pin Press, as follows:   Create Monotype Ghost Prints&nbsp;&mdash;&nbsp;After printing a monotype there may be some ink residue remaining on the plate. Release Agent can be rolled over the plate to print a second lighter version&nbsp;&mdash;&nbsp;or &quot;ghost print&quot;&nbsp;&mdash;&nbsp;of the first print onto another sheet of paper.   Create High Shine&nbsp;&mdash;&nbsp;Roll Release Agent over metallic inks to soften them and ease transfer off the plate and onto the paper. Wait three minutes and print.   Hand-Printing Monotypes with a Pin Press&nbsp;&mdash;&nbsp;Roll Release Agent onto the surface of the plate before doing brushwork to facilitate easy release from plate to paper.   Release Agent looks white in the jar but rolls up clear and colorless. It has a soft, buttery consistency and cleans up with liquid dish detergent.   Akua Intaglio Inks do not require Release Agent for optimum results, and Release Agent is not required for printing with an etching press.

Akua Intaglio  soy-based  permanent inks are a  non-toxic,  environmentally safe way to do printmaking.   Formatted for intaglio, they can also be applied with a brayer for relief, monotype, and collagraph printmaking techniques. Combine Akua Intaglio Ink with Solarplate for a completely waterbased intaglio process.   Akua ink has a rich, thick consistency with minimal dryer and cleans up easily with soap and water.   Print from plastic, wood, linoleum, or metal plates. You don&rsquo;t need any special ventilation, toxic solvents, or fireproof containers.

The unique  slow-drying  formula allows plenty of time to create an image on the plate.   Because Akua stays wet on the plate, there's no need to soak paper before printing. Clean, brilliant, lightfast colors are exceptionally strong yet transparent &mdash; no chalk, fillers, or polymers are added.   Use Akua&nbsp;modifers to adjust sheen, thickness, and transparency.  Akua Liquid Pigment&nbsp; cleans up fast and easy with water. They can also be used for Japanese woodcut and drawing on paper. Inks come in  4 oz   (118 ml)  containers.
