Stellar Embroidery

Combine embroidery with paint pouring in a new out-of-this-world technique!

An embroidery hoop can be filled with pouring medium and watercolor to create a strong and flexible surface that, when dry, can be easily pierced with a needle.

Instructions

  1. Place embroidery hoop on a plastic sheet protector and secure with masking tape.
  2. Fill inside of hoop halfway with pouring medium.
  3. Add a few drops of Blick Liquid Watercolor and gently swirl into pouring medium to marblize.
  4. Once dry, remove from sheet protector and trace a constellation image onto the surface.
  5. Using a blunt needle, embroider the constellation.
