Brainstorm & Sketch Sketch 2–3 Pop Art-inspired tile ideas. Think big with bold shapes, exaggerated scale, and playful designs inspired by food, symbols, comics, or everyday objects.

Create the Tile Base Roll clay slabs approximately 1/2" thick. Cut tiles into squares, rectangles, or creative shapes. Compress edges and allow the slab to firm slightly before adding relief elements.

Build the Relief Use additive techniques to create raised forms and subtractive techniques to carve into the surface. Experiment with overlapping forms, varied textures, and strong focal points.

Add Texture & Details Use stamps, texture tools, carving techniques, and graphic details to add movement, contrast, and visual energy. Score and slip all attachments securely.

Dry & Bisque Fire Allow tiles to dry slowly and evenly to reduce warping and cracking. Bisque fire according to the clay manufacturer's recommendations.

Glaze the Tile Apply bright, contrasting glaze colors. Consider emphasis, movement, and color relationships to enhance the Pop Art aesthetic.

Final Firing & Display Glaze fire to the appropriate cone. Display completed tiles individually or combine them into a collaborative Pop Art installation.
