Macramé Mash-Up

Stitch, weave, and knot your way to a stunning macramé wall hanging. Copper wire is used to connect pieces of flexible plastic canvas into a base for these dimensional pieces made from yarn.

Instructions

1. Cut 4-5 shapes out of a half sheet (6" x 9") of plastic canvas. The shapes can follow the grid design of the canvas, be curved, or be cut in a free-form shape.

STEP1

2. Add yarn and fibers by stitching, weaving, and knotting in and around the holes in the plastic canvas. Think about how colors, textures, patterns, and negative space will work together in your finished piece.

STEP2

3. Weave copper wire through the holes in the canvas to connect the shapes and add accents to your wall hanging. Add beads, if desired.
