Tight'N'Up Liquid Canvas Retensioner is the perfect solution to most canvas tension problems. It instantly and safely tightens well-stretched canvas and paintings that have slackened over time.
Simply spray a small amount of the solution onto the back of the piece. Once applied, Tight’N’Up soaks into the canvas threads and fibers causing them to swell and contract and the canvas to tighten. As the water evaporates, the binder agents remain in the fabric material, locking the fabric into a contracted state, restoring canvas tension, and leaving the surface flat and tight.
Not recommended for use on polyester-based or oil-primed canvas.

Comments about Tight'N'Up Liquid Canvas Retensioner:
Was looking forward to fixing some deep canvases that had sagged. Unfortunately after use the canvases are all worse than they were before I tried this product. The effect was the same as spraying the back with water - however with water the canvases either got better or remained the same. This product made the canvases look at first (same as using water) but 1-2 days later they look worse than ever. I tried washing a couple to see if I could get the product off and help restore to at least before use, but there seems to be nothing I can do to fix them. I will be tossing out this product.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Tight N' Up Canvas Retensioner Masterpiece

Thanks for Dick Blick Team for helping me for my order. Very helpful! The item has landed for sure:)
I sprayed it on the back of a painted canvas that was showing diagonal looseness. One application solved the problem. One area of the canvas may have gotten too much of the solution and at first I could see the paint on the front changed color slightly in that area, but when the solution was completely dry, the paint had returned to it's original color. I will be a little more sparing next time I use it, and pay attention that I spray it on evenly. I love this!!

I purchased a linen canvas (very large approx 4x3 feet, stretched and primed) from an art supply store and when I finally went to use it I noticed it had developed deep vertical ripples across the entire canvas. It was pretty bad. I knew that if I just sprayed water on the back it wouldn't do the job. Even though I didn't believe this product would work, I decided to try it out as a last ditch effort to save my canvas. I have to say that I'm shocked that it not only worked, but the canvas is perfect. I really can't believe it. I applied the spray three times, working it in each time with a brush. It took minutes. Bravo!

I had never used anything like this before so I don't have anything to compare it to except water and keys which are all I have used in the past. The canvas I purchased just needed the extra help after I used the keys and this product really helped out. The canvas still isn't drum tight but it's much better than it was before I applied the Tight'n'up.

Tight'N Up makes any canvas tight and easy to work with. I work with the pallet knife and without the resilence of the canvas things just wouldn't work properly.

I've never used or even seen this type of product before so I can't compare. However, I have used plain water to tighten canvas for years. Compared to water this is far better. I had a painting with a cheap canvas that was loose in two corners. I tried damp cloth and sponges. I even re-stretched but tore the canvas and could just barely staple back on. I thought I would have to reline and happened upon this product. In desperation I gave it a shot. I removed the staples at the two corners and was able to spray in there plus use a brush after re-restapling. It did the job. What a great find. Thanks to whoever discovered this and to the manufacturer.
