Sienna Plein Air Pochade Box - Medium Box (Open)

Built with strong finger-joint construction using poplar, maple, and Baltic birch, Sienna Plein Air Pochades combine an easel and a palette in one. All sizes feature adjustable canvas holders that support panels or stretched canvases equally well, along with a foldout brush tray that holds seven brushes.

Made for versatility, these pochades are equipped with an adjustable arm that allows the lid to be held at any angle that suits your medium, including totally flat for watercolor painting. All adjustments are controlled with plastic star knobs, which are easy to grip and hold a tight, stable position.

A critical component of these pochades is the sturdy tripod mounting plate, which accommodates the quick-release Sienna Plein Air Tripod (sold separately) and holds a firm, stable position under the most challenging outdoor conditions.
Sienna Plein Air Pochade Boxes include a palette as well as a set of palette blocks.

The Sienna Plein Air Backpack is large enough to accommodate the Pochade Box, the Supply Box, the Wet Panel Box, and a variety of other supplies as well as a tripod (all sold separately). Features include a mesh pouch for holding a water bottle, a large zippered pocket for holding extra supplies, a small internal mesh pocket for holding small tools, and a padded back and waist strap for extra comfort. It weighs 2.2 lb.

Designed to work with Sienna Plein Air Pochade Boxes, the Sienna Plein Air Tripod can be independently locked into place at three different angles to enable painting in tight places, on irregular surface areas, or at ground level.

The  four-section  tripod features aluminum alloy legs and magnesium alloy components that provide fast setup and the durability required by plein air painters and professional photographers.

The tripod and included ballhead are individually rated to support 13.2&nbsp;lbs (6&nbsp;kg), which is critical to the stability of the pochade box while painting, and in windy conditions. The  precision-machined  ballhead ensures smooth, secure operation of the pochade box at any pitch or angle, controlled by a  one-touch  adjustment knob that allows for quick and precise positioning. A patented,  dual-locking,  dovetail  quick-release  plate enables quick, secure mounting and dismounting, without fear of accidentally unseating the pochade box.

The tripod's height adjusts easily with a flip of the  quick-lock  leg levers, and its  anti-rotation  legs enable fast and easy setup.  Fine-tune  the working height of your pochade box with the tripod's center extension column. A wing  nut-style   column-locking  knob allows for quick, secure height adjustments. 

On flat or uneven ground, a  built-in  spirit level helps keep your tripod  squared-off  and level to your subject, and a  built-in  compass provides orientation coordinates.

A hook located on the bottom of the center column allows you to hang a bag or backpack inside the tripod's center of gravity for increased stability &mdash; and also keeps your gear out of the dirt and mud!

The Sienna Tripod includes a shoulder strap and a durable carrying case to provide maximum protection of the tripod and ballhead.

Maximum tripod height (at a 24&deg; leg angle) with the column extended is 59.4&quot; (151 cm). Maximum tripod height (at a 24&deg;leg angle) with the column retracted is 50.8&quot; (129&nbsp;cm). Folded, the tripod length is 19&quot; (48&nbsp;cm).
