A favorite among top artists, premium Artfix Belgian linen is hand-primed in a small village in Provence, France, using time-honored European methods. The canvas is sized twice with a specially formulated acrylic sizing to completely seal the fabric, isolating it from the acids contained in primers and paints.

Adaptable to virtually any style of painting, this is a strong, medium texture linen with a tight weave. The canvas is primed with two coats of universal acrylic primer for a durable surface that's more matte and a bit more absorbent than traditional "glossy" acrylic-primed canvas. It's great for oils, alkyds, acrylics, egg tempera, casein, and even drawing media.

The primed canvas is bound to RayMar's museum-quality 1/8" MDF panels using a pH-neutral adhesive. Made in house with careful attention to detail, the acid-free archival art boards feature RayMar's signature gray melamine backing. The backing resists warping and provides a permanent barrier against deterioration from moisture and mold.

Fine texture RayMar 23SC Smooth Portrait Canvas Panels are professional-grade, 100&#37; archival art panels ideal for portraits and detail work in oils or acrylics.   Panels are made with careful attention to detail. Medium weight polyflax/cotton canvas is affixed to 1/8&quot; thick MDF with a pH-neutral adhesive. A gray melamine backing creates a moisture barrier that resists warping and deterioration over time.   The ultrasmooth panels are primed with three coats of acid-free, 100&#37; virgin acrylic titanium gesso for a primed weight of 11.5 oz.    RayMar 23SC Smooth Portrait Panels offer a less expensive alternative to linen. The smooth texture canvas permits more paint manipulation and produces a translucent effect similar to oil-primed linen.

RayMar Oil Paper Panels are premium archival panels with a revolutionary paper surface specially formulated for oil media.   The  140 lb (300 gsm)  paper surface is ready to use with oils and oil pastels &mdash; no preparation necessary. The panels have a strong, toothy surface that withstands rubbing and scraping and supports heavy impasto layers.   Maintaining the look and feel of traditional oil painting papers, the Oil Paper features a powerful, efficient oil barrier that absorbs water, solvents, and binders evenly while allowing the paint and pigment to remain on the surface for excellent color rendering and faster drying times. The acid-free paper has no optical brightening agents, which improves its archival integrity.   Panels are made with careful attention to detail. The oil paper is mounted to Raymar’s 1/8&quot; MDF panels using a pH-neutral adhesive. A gray melamine backing creates a moisture barrier that resists warping and deterioration over time. Because the paper is pre-mounted on board, it's easy to frame (without glass) when varnished.   RayMar Oil Paper Panels are a wonderful choice for professional artists and students painting in the studio or en plein air.
