Prismacolor Premier Colored Pencils have soft 3.8 mm cores made with light-resistant pigments that are easy to blend, slow to wear, and waterproof. Verithin Pencils have hard, thin leads and are ideal for detailed work and outlining.

The colors are easy to blend, slow to wear, break-resistant, and waterproof. Each 3.8 mm core is enclosed in a round cedar casing that is lacquered to match the core.

Manual sharpening is recommended for Prismacolor colored pencils. Clogging can be prevented in electric sharpeners by periodically sharpening a graphite pencil to keep the blades clean.
