Made from the finest natural Kolinsky Sable and hand-shaped by skilled German brush makers, the heads on these short-handled rounds are what make them a must-have for watercolorists.
The natural hair in Princeton Series 7050 Kolinsky Sable Rounds ensures a generous belly for holding water and for maintaining a fine point. The hair is cupped in seamless nickel ferrules and attached to short black lacquered handles.

Comments about Princeton Series 7050 Siberian Kolinsky Sable Round:
I was really quite excited to receive this product because I've never owned a kolinsky sable brush before and I've heard magical things about their watercolor properties. The brush itself is beautiful and the hairs are soft. As far as it's behavior with water and paint, it's magnificent! However, ever since I took it out of the packaging, whenever I pick it up the ferrule wobbles a bit which is really unfortunate. I'm bummed because this brush probably has a much shorter lifespan than a brush with zero defects.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Merchant response: We apologize for the wobbly ferrule, and we're more than happy to replace the defective brush. One of our Customer Care Representatives will be in touch with you soon.

great watercolor brush
from Fairbanks, AK
Fine point, but holds a surprising amount of watercolor at the base. Kolinsky makes the finest brushes, this is my first and I am very impressed.

Excellent for inking
By Comic painter
I am not sure about the other review about inking, but I have a 0, 2, 4 from this series and all three are great. I ink and watercolor, and for both using these brushes feels like driving a luxury car. The line I get for inking, especially from the #4, goes from needle thin to super thick in one stroke. Well-made and last if you take care of them.

Great for watercolor
Great Replacement Sable for my work
By Thom DownEast
I was in need of replacing a valued older sable and after a lot of review, selected this one from Princeton. I have other Princeton brushes but not in this line--the Kolinsky's--so I was very pleased to get it in hand and see how it performed. Great brush at excellent value!

I have used lot of brushes but this series has such a great touch and response. I can just flow over the surface. Worth the cost

this has beautiful spring and a fine pointed tip. I think it is a little less full in the barrel than my older Daley Rowney kolinsky brushes of a smaller size, but I love painting with it.

Not good for inking
from Colorado Springs
I got this brush for fine lines, but it doesn't work well at all. I've read that Sable brushes are good for inking, but I haven't seen it yet. I bought the Windsor Newton and that works great and cost less than half.
Merchant response: We are sorry that this brush did not meet your project needs. For inking purposes, liner brushes are ideal as the long slender hairs maintain a point for linear work. This is my first Kolinsky sable brush (the #12 round). It was an excellent purchase - holds a lot of water, makes beautiful brush marks, and holds an excellent point for details. I love this brush.
