Welcome to dickblick
This synthetic white fabric is constructed similarly to silk, but with better uniformity. Compared to silk, it offers extreme durability, yet has a lower price.

Good selection and the screen fabric is durable. I have been reusing many of the screens for years.
Multifilament mesh is very much like silk
from Cincinnati, Ohio
I make silk screens by hand, using "rubbings" of ancient engravings as patterns. When real silk mesh was available, the method worked remarkably well. I first coat the mesh with water soluble glue and then use alcohol based shellac to paint the image on the screen (the areas where ink is not to pass through in printing). When he shellac is dry, the remaining glue is dissolved with warm water, and the finished screen is used to make prints. I use an oil based ink, which can be cleaned with a petroleum solvent called Xylol or Xylene, which does not affect the glue or shellac that defines the image. When I use monofilament mesh, the shellac based image is destroyed when I use water to dissolve the glue. The multifilament mesh, on the other hand, is very similar to silk mesh, and retains the image when the glue is dissolved.
Multifilament Screen Fabric
from Gasport, New York
Multifilament screen fabric is required when using indirect films for screen making. The microscopic fibers help the gelatin film adhere to the screen.I have been purchasing screen fabric from Dick Blick for over thirty years now. I stretch all of my screens with Blick's fabric. The #10xx grade fabric works well with heavy plastisols and especially: white ink. Thank you Dick Blick for having the supplies I need!
Excellent quality and price
I use this product for screenprinting and it's perfect...just right for retaining fine detail and does not plug up.

Works perfectly for me
from Lodi, CA
I am an amateur screen printer and I have ordered this fabric multiple times for my frames. It works perfectly for printing on T-Shirts. I cannot say how it compares with other products because this is the only kind I have used. I believe it's a great value.
Great product, well packaged

I got 3 yards of this and was really impressed by how well it was packaged.

from out there
Tough, durable, and large enough for any, or many, projects. The various sizes make printing just about anything possible. Besides actual screen printing, the possibilities for this stuff are endless. Great filtering material. Hand Washes well Dish detergent)hang to air dry. Resistant to many paints, bleach, oils, alcohol etc.. Test material with each first. Blick's Multi Filament Poly Fabric is the only way to go. And the prices can't be beat. Long time customer 15-20 yrs , and I'll be back again for ALL my "REAL" Art supplies. Great store and product.
