Masterpiece Heavy Duty Cross Braces are for use with Masterpiece Heavy Duty Stretcher Strips. Braces fit snuggly into the slots on the stretcher strips, and can be further wedged for an extra firm fit.   These professional grade braces are constructed with the same quality and care as Masterpiece stretcher strips. They are made of clear, solid fir, with no finger joints.


**40'' strips, Cross Set**  - One set comes as a pair of braces, which fit between the stretcher strips and the internal Straight Brace. Size given is the outside dimension of the canvas frame. A Cross Set is never used without a Straight Brace. It is possible to use two or more Cross Sets on one long, rectangular canvas.


**42'' strips, Cross Set**  - One set comes as a pair of braces, which fit between the stretcher strips and the internal Straight Brace. Size given is the outside dimension of the canvas frame. A Cross Set is never used without a Straight Brace. It is possible to use two or more Cross Sets on one long, rectangular canvas.

The patented B2 Custom Frame Kit from Masterpiece takes the hassle out of building a stretcher frame. This complete kit includes everything you need to construct the best frame on the market. Kits larger than 36" include braces, but sizes 36" and smaller do not. Canvas is not included. 
 
These kits include: 
 

-  B2 Professional Heavy Duty  1-7/16" deep x 2-1/4" wide (4 cm x 6 cm) stretcher bars for maximum strength and support
-  Kits for sizes larger than 36" include solid wood keyable braces that are twice as large and twice as strong as most other braces 
-  On sizes where the braces have a cross configuration, nails and glue are also included 
-  Brace keys, corners, and diamond braces (on sizes where appropriate)
-  Corner keys (on all sizes)

Masterpiece stretcher bars are constructed from solid fir, using clear strips with no finger joints. The absence of the finger joints in even the longest bars insures that canvas tension is even throughout. These are our premium-grade stretchers.   These professional grade stretcher bars resist warpage. Their tight fitting tongue-and-groove design creates a taut and sturdy support frame for cotton and linen canvas. Each bar measures  1-7/16&quot; &nbsp;high&nbsp;&times;  2-1/4&quot; &nbsp;deep.&nbsp;    Note  &mdash; Price is per bar, not pair. Masterpiece stretcher bars will not interlock with Fredrix brand stretcher bars.
