Comments about Large Plastic Folding Palette:
Great price, and quality product! Very affordable and it has a lot of room for paints of any type. I love how it lays flat and it is easy to fold and store anywhere. A solid buy and I will definitely buy this product again.

Best overall watercolor palette ever
This is a very sturdy palette; I've provided them to hundreds of watercolor students over the past 13 years, and have heard of only one breaking. Plenty of room in it, easy to clean, highly recommended both in the studio and outdoors. The price is much higher than on other websites, but it's often out of stock. Glad it's still available at all.
Just what I wanted

Using this item for my watercolors. Small case means it is easy to take on road trips plus less space at home when painting.

Lies Flat, Big Win

Happy to find a plastic folding that lies flat, unlike the identical version Blick makes.

I'm a color junkie, what can I say, and this palette lets me carry all my favorite core pigments for months of painting- my students end up emulating it because they see how compact yet fully useful it is. I sometimes have entire groups of students with the same palette setup (and map with painted swatches): so easy to teach when everyone starts with the same colors in the same places! Also, it does not take up huge amounts of table space (also good for plein aire). This palette was unavailable for awhile; glad to see it back. I have a main palette, and two extras that have duochrome, granulating mineral pigments, convenience mixtures and secondary colors. I almost never use the extras. The only thing this palette cannot do is very large quantities of washes and very large brushes.

I have no complaints. There's plenty of space and sections to mix paints and it's easy to store so that I can re-use colors again. I haven't tried actually traveling with it, and I don' t think i would recommend doing so while there's liquid that can spill out, because I don't think it's equipped for that (but great if everything inside has already dried!). Basically, it's everything I was looking for in a watercolor mixing palette. I'm a happy customer
Just what I needed!
from Valley Center, CA
I only recently started painting/drawing. So when I tried to find supplies (in stores), I was shocked by how expensive things were. Took to researching the Internet and found DickBlick. Was THRILLED with the prices. Not knowing about quality, I decided to take a chance. Figured I could always return stuff if it wasn't what I expected. Happily, they delivered. The folding pallette is exactly what it was described to be; GREAT value all the way around. Only "wish" is that the shipping prices weren't so high. You have to spend $99 to get free shipping so unless you're willing to lay out the bucks, you have to pay what seems to me high costs. Almost cancels out the savings but since my options are limited, I figure it's the best way to go. I highly recommend DickBlick. They have pretty much anything you might need for your art.
Pallete leaks and must be absolutely dry when you close it
from San Francisco, CA
I used the palette for watercolor, and everything must be absolutely and totally dry when you close the palette and travel. Otherwise, it leaks all over everything, including the other paints in the palette and whatever the bag is that you are using the carry it in. This is what happened to me. So it is essentially unusable for travel. The only use is to be able to cover the paints, but not to travel with it.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Merchant response: While this palette folds up nicely for travel, it is not noted to be waterproof. Wet paints and mixtures will need to be stored in a waterproof container. Great plein air choice
By Travelling Granny
This palette will be great for use outdoors or for travelling. The individual "slots" for the paints are somewhat smaller than I was hoping, but there are good areas for mixing, and a thumb hole for use at my plein air easel. It seems sturdy, and I'm sure it will be just great! Also, it arrived in the mail in record time! Thanks!
from Northern Colorado
Travels nice. Well built for plastic (i would like to see the same design in metal). Enough sections to keep colors separate and for mixing.
