For plein air painters who like to travel light, the portable, compact Guerrilla Painter ThumBox V3.0 has it all. Reminiscent of the original “cigar box” pochade boxes used for quick outdoor painting by 19th and early 20th century painters, the original ThumBox included a special thumbhole in the bottom so it could be hand-held while painting — hence the name, “Thumbox.” The slim new design makes it easier than ever to take the ThumBox V3.0 on the go. Based on an ultra-light pochade box that Guerrilla Painter Carl Judson built while doing volunteer work in the back country of Bolivia in the 1990s, the ThumBox V3.0 still includes the high-quality features and accessories that made the original ThumBox so popular. 

The updated 6x8 ThumBox V3.0 holds two wet 6" x 8" panels (1/8" or 1/4" thick) completely enclosed within its lid. It has a 1-1/2" deep storage compartment under the sliding palette. It also has an easy-to-use adjustable lid bracket which positively locks the lid in any position over a full 180° range with only one knob. Its rugged, yet lightweight construction consists of strong basswood laminate with stainless steel screws, glued joints, and rustproof aluminum hardware. 

This popular 6" x 8" size can be used in your lap, on a table, or on a camera tripod using the installed universal camera tripod mount. It measures 9" x 7" x 3" and weighs only 1-1/2 lb.
