The best quality paper for wet on wet!
By Jamin Art

Comments about Fabriano Studio Watercolor Pads:
I teach and the 9x12 paper is perfrct size and the fact there are 50 sheets helps with my time not having to re-order weekly! When using it Wet on Wet it realy holds its shape and does not have a bad smell like leading brand starts with an A does! It is just an all round grat paper for acrylic and watercolor applications. I also like to draw with pen and ink and the texture makes a nice skip in the ink !
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This paper is amazing
from Atlanta, GA
The texture allows for great blending and allows you to manipulate the paint in ways you couldn't with other papers.
Fabulous, and a bargain!
I saw a stack of these pads in a Blick store, and was about to pass them by (too small, I thought) when I noticed how thick they were... up to 75 sheets! Most W/C pads have 15, 20... maybe 30 (for the really cheap kind), but this paper looked and felt like quality stuff. The largest size available was only 11x14, but between the great price and the thickness, I figured I could at least use it for studies. And so I grabbed the cold press, 90 lb version (again, more sheets/pad), and I can NOT be happier! The paper stands up to all types of dry and water media (when taped down, even the 90 lb can take a soaking and dry flat). Good lifting with W/C; pencil erases well; and India ink doesn't bleed or feather. As far as I'm concerned, these are good enough for finished works. But best part is, the price allows me to experiment freely, instead of "saving" or being stingy with it.
Good Quality for the Price
from Phoenix, AZ
I use it for wet-on-wet watercolor using liquid watercolors. Color spreads well and paper holds up (140 lb.).

Holds paint color well and dries evenly.
Great hot press paper
I was very happy to find a hot press paper at the student-grade price level. I'm really loving it so far. It holds up to my pen and ink wash work just fine and looks great. It's a fairly soft paper, so I wouldn't recommend rough treatment like scrubbing.

One of my Favs
from NY, NY
Although on the pricier side of paper what really grabs me about this brand of studio paper is that it is 25% cotton. It is very rare to find cotton paper that is of decent price. I rarely use my good paper unless I have a commission or a professional piece to work on. However I am always more then happy to sell pieces on the Fabriano paper and I rarely have any issues with warping paper. The paper is absorbent and very workable.

This paper will buckle but it helps to tape it down.
Love Fabriano Studio Watercolor pads

I do a lot of quick Plein Air sketching. Love this page because it has just enough cotton rag in it to be able to paint fluid watercolors. Good with watercolor pencils and heavy enough that markers do not bleed. A good value.
