The Faber-Castell Pitt Charcoal Tin features natural drawing charcoal sticks and pencils as well as compressed stick and pencil charcoal in a range of hardness degrees &mdash; a practical set for those who prefer to work in charcoal. 

Natural charcoal sticks are the oldest sketching and drawing material in the world. Their blueish hue has always held a fascination, even for the Old Masters. Made by carbonizing  resin-free  twigs under exclusion of air, the natural charcoal sticks and pencils in this set glide softly across the paper, rub and smudge with ease, erase easily, and can be repeatedly overlaid. 

The compressed charcoal pencils and sticks in this set leave a much blacker line. A combination of soot and clay give them their deep black color.
