Duncan Oh Four Bisque Vases are formulated with pure earthenware clay and made using a very consistent manufacturing process, for a more stable end result. 


To use, clean the vases with a damp sponge to remove any dust, then decorate them with glazes or underglazes and allow them to dry. Fire to Cone 06. Glazes applied to the vases are guaranteed not to shiver, regardless of the brand of glaze being used. They can also be decorated with acrylic paints, which will render them unsafe for use with food or liquid.

Duncan Metallic Glazes produce a range of polished finishes, from shiny to matte, transforming ordinary surfaces into dramatic works of art.    Due to their metal-like nature, Metallic Glazes are great for use as a raku glaze. They can also be combined with other Duncan glazes to create unique effects. They have the ability to flow more freely when fired on a vertical surface than other gloss glazes. Glaze thickness, clay body, and firing can influence results.   Apply three to four flowing coats on Cone 04 bisqueware, then fire to Cone 04. Or use any glaze color as a base coat, apply wax resist, then apply Duncan Metallic Glazes to create metallic specks.    These glazes are not overglaze-compatible. Do not fire with greenware or other glazes, as the greenware fumes will damage the glaze and ruin the finish.   Brushes and work areas can be cleaned easily with water.   Duncan Metallic Glazes are not food-safe.

Duncan True Matte Glazes have a smooth, matte finish that gives any ceramic piece a refined, sophisticated appearance.    These non-toxic, food-safe glazes are available in a palette of stunning prismatic colors that range from pastels to rich jewel tones. They can be painted on in monochromatic hues, paired with other colors, or used for Majolica techniques.    Apply three or four smooth, even coats, making sure each coat is dry before reapplying. The coats may be applied with a sponge for better coverage. Bisque fire to Cone 04, then fire to Cone 06.    Duncan True Matte Glazes clean up with water.

Duncan True Matte Glazes have a smooth, matte finish. Non-toxic and food-safe, they come in a wide range, from pastels to jewel tones. Can be painted in monochromatic hues, paired with other colors, or used for Majolica. Bisque fire to Cone 04. Fire to Cone 06. Easy water cleanup.

Duncan Precious Metals Overglazes contain real precious metals that result in brilliant 22 karat yellow gold or white gold finishes when applied to fired glazed ware. They are food-safe after firing. 


Bright Gold and White Gold contain 4 percent 22 karat gold content. Premium Gold contains 8 percent 22 karat gold content, producing a truer gold color. 


To use, simply place a small amount of overglaze onto a glazed palette, then use a brush to evenly coat the glazed piece as desired. Do not let the glaze pool. Opaque when applied, Premium Gold will appear red in color, Bright Gold will appear brown, and White Gold will appear green. Allow to dry, then stilt and fire to Cone 019-018. 


Duncan Precious Metals Overglazes should not be stirred or shaken before use.

Duncan Precious Metals Overglazes are real precious metals applied to fired glazed ware as a final finish. These overglazes are opaque when applied, and result in a brilliant 22 karat yellow gold or white gold finish when fired to Cone 019-018. 2 g.
