Intended for the most demanding professional, Blick Premier Heavyweight Cotton Canvas is more stable and durable than lighter-weight canvas, so it stands up well to heavier paint applications. 

These canvases are made using top-grade, archival-quality 100% cotton with a 15 oz pre-primed weight. Then, they're triple-primed with acid-free acrylic gesso to reach a hefty 20 oz finished weight. The canvas is then hand-stretched and back-stapled onto heavy-duty, kiln-dried stretcher bars made from solid pine. Blanket-fold corners assure ease of re-stretching. 

The frame is constructed with tenon corners for added strength, and eight keys are included for minor adjustments to the frame over time. Cross-bracing on the larger sizes provides extra stability under tension.  Braces are 1-1/2" (37 mm) wide.

Blick Premier Cotton Canvas is: 

-   Carefully hand-prepared for expert paint handling in oil or acrylic 
-   Triple-primed with premium gesso 
-   10 oz in weight pre-primed and 15 oz post-primed 
-   Available in three profiles 

How is the canvas made? First, the cotton duck is grown and woven in India. Then the canvas is coated with three layers of  professional-grade, acid-free gesso. It’s carefully sanded between primer coats for a smooth, luxurious surface with just the right tooth. 

Finally, the primed fabric is evenly stretched around Blick Premier solid wood stretcher bars, which are kiln-dried for warp-resistance and long-term stability. Canvases are available in two stretched options, Hand-Splined or Back-Stapled.

__Hand-Splined -__  Hand-splined on the back with minimal staples and no bulky corner folds. A rubber gasket holds the fabric neatly in place. Splined canvases hang tight to the wall and are often preferred by artists who display their work unframed.

__Back-Stapled -__ Gallery-wrapped and back-stapled with uncut corners and generous selvage, allowing for future re-stretching if desired.

Larger canvas sizes are braced for extra support. Cross brace configurations may vary by size and style.

For works in oils or acrylics, Blick Premier Stretched Cotton Canvas offers the high quality you expect from Blick — with an affordable price. Available splined or stapled, the 10 oz pre-primed, 100% cotton canvas is carefully handmade and triple-primed with premium gesso.

Intended for the most demanding professional, Blick Premier Heavyweight Cotton Canvas is made from professional-grade, archival-quality 100% cotton duck. This canvas is triple-primed with acid-free Titanium gesso to reach a 20 oz finished weight.
