Blick Maplewood Floater Frames

These unique frames are so named because the illusion they create is that your artwork is "floating" within the frame instead of being covered by it — perfect for displaying a gallery wrap canvas where no staples are visible. The canvas easily attaches to the stretcher bars from the back side with screws (not included).

Available in a variety of popular sizes to accommodate 3/4" deep or 7/8" deep canvases, the Blick Maplewood Floater Frame is made from genuine American maple hardwood. Every frame is hand-rubbed, giving it a beautiful, silky smooth feel and a "washed" appearance, which may be more pronounced with the Black frame. Frame is made by hand. The color of these frames may vary slightly depending on the color of the natural wood.

Frame Dimensions – Frames are measured by the size of the artwork they hold. Measure your artwork, mat, or panel, and order that size frame. The frame will overlap your artwork by about 1/4" on each side so it fits securely. If the frame includes a precut mat, the mat opening is indicated as Artwork Size.

Depth (Profile / Thickness) – How thick the frame moulding is from front to back, or how far it sticks out from the wall.

Rabbet Depth – The space inside the frame that holds your artwork and any materials used with it, like glass, matting, or backing. Make sure the total thickness of your materials fit within the rabbet depth.

Open Back Frames - These frames are meant to be hung on the wall and are not shipped with backing material, glazing material, or hanging hardware. The open back frames are commonly used for traditional profile stretched canvases and panels.
