Welcome to dickblick
Made of fine-quality solid wood with a lovely natural woodgrain, Blick Essentials Gallery Wood Frames are ideal for when you want your artwork to do all the talking.
With a depth of 1½" (25 mm), they'll also accommodate stretched canvases beautifully. These frames ship with a styrene face as styrene is lighter than glass and less likely to shatter in transit. The styrene face has a protective film on both sides that protects it from scratches and smudges. The film should be removed before displaying your art.
Blick Essentials Gallery Wood Frames are available in Black, Walnut, White, and Natural finishes.
Color Matching — We do our best to match the color of frames, both on our website photography and in our catalogs, but differences in technology may affect the appearance of the photo on your screen. You are entitled to return, for refund or credit, any frame that does not meet your expectations.
Frame Depth — The depth of a frame refers to the depth of the frame's rabbet (the cut-out area behind the frame's molding that holds your artwork in place). To find a frame that will accommodate your artwork, measure the depth of the artwork, including any matting or mounting materials, and order a frame with a depth that is, at a minimum, the same as that measured depth.
Frame Dimensions — Frames are sized by the opening, not by the outside of the molding. To determine the size of frame to order, measure the outside of your artwork, including mat, and order that size frame. The frame will overlap your artwork ¼" all the way around, so your artwork will fit nicely behind the frame's molding.

It Looks Great !!
It has a really great gallery look. Easy to work with. I changed the plexiglass for the replace glass that Blick has to sell here and it looks much more high quality than with the thin plexiglass that it comes with. It arrived with a little damage on 2 of the corners of it and Blick was great and fast to replace it immediately without any charge for me. I will keep using them ! Love it !!
Exactly what I needed

This frame is well with the money. I was very impressed with not only the frame itself, but also the shipping time and packaging. I will definitely order from here again!
Nice inexpensive wood frame for acrylic paintings

Used this frame for an acrylic painting on a stretched canvas. Plenty of room in the back to support varying depths of canvases. Looks somewhat like a plastic frame.
I would purchase these frames again

Nice quality frames to display my artwork
I will buy these frames again BUT don't expect perfection...
from Yulee, FL.
Every frame was flawed, either a nick in the front facing or side, or the backing was scratched up, some backs had been retouched with matte black paint/faded/long scratches. I didn't send any back nor did I complain, they were so heavily discounted that I didn't expect perfection anyway... I will be buying them again and hoping that the next batch is in better condition.

Don't waste your money
from South bend Indiana
So, although these frames are a great price point, especially if you need multiples like I did, they are horribly put together. The shipping and packing were fantastic but one of my frames had shown signs of already being broken and put back together. Needless to say on the way to transporting them to a gallery, two of the wooden frames broke. They were all very flimsy and I was weary to even carry them inside. Will never purchase again. I'm just thankful the show they are for is a student show and not something too serious.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I really needed a shadow box for 3D pieces - I altered this product a bit to make it work :)
OK, but only if you are happy working on frames.

These are good & cheap, but you will need to do some work on them to get them to look good. Mine had several corners not properly joined, so I had to take them apart, re-glue and clamp. (used band clamps.) Then I had to sand, use wood filler on bigger chips & irregularities, and apply my own finishes. BUT, the good news is, they are raw wood frames, and it's actual wood, not pressboard, so you *can* do all of that stuff to them. Did I mention they're cheap? I don't really mind doing the work, because they didn't cost much money to begin with.
