LOVE my Aquabee!!
By Sue Weber
Comments about Bee Paper Aquabee Watercolor Paper:
I love this versatile watercolor paper! I can use it for all sorts of media... watercolor, colored pencil, Ink, acrylics, pen, & any combination of the above. My only complaint is that I can't find the same paper in blocks or in a larger size. It would be awesome. It is reasonably priced.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Works for me.
from Georgia US
As a beginning watercolorist I really appreciate the quality and the value. The paper takes water with minimal buckling, paint sits on top nicely so I can move it around and lift and mix colors. Once dry light glazes don't lift the underlying layers. Paint doesn't tend to spread on its own very much, the only part I miss from the top notch papers. Very worthwhile purchase for me, as I can practice the techniques I'm trying to master without rationing out bits of expensive paper.

Excellent for watercolor AND fine pen drawings
I use this paper for first watercolor, which sits really solidly on the surface. If you're looking for paper that really sucks up water, Fabriano is probably a better paper for you. I WANT the water and color to sit on the surface longer, as I actually use a hairdryer as a tool to move the color/water around. Then I use the finest Micron and amazingly it doesn't bleed and I can make tiny dots and very, very fine lines. I LOVE this paper. I wish Blick also carried the larger sizes.

Horrible way too absorbent.
from Lynchburg VA
I thought this would be good practice paper. I lightly misted (very lightly) the paper and tried watercolors first and then liquid acrylics. The watercolor faded as the paper soaked it up and the acrylic soaked through to the other side. It may be fine for pen and ink and other dry media, or wet media with a dry brush, but it is just too absorbent for my purposes. I wouldn't complain if it hadn't been described as "well sized". That is of course a subjective statement but I think unprimed cotton canvas is no less absorbent.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Awesome watercolor paper
By Kinder Teacher
from Redwood City
I order this watercolor pencil to use with watercolor pencils. It does help to have a absorbent paper but not bumpy. That fits the use. I have not use it with liquid watercolors, but my guess is that it will hold.I am using it on a kinder class, with watercolor pencils. I ask them to brush with a drop of water not soaked, and we had beautiful results.

Really nice watercolor paper ^ ^
By Angle of Deth
You can't beat this paper for the price. I will buy more in the future. It's a nice paper, but not so expensive as to make me concerned about 'wasting' it on practice paintings.

For pen and ink, light washes, careful glazes, etc. An amazing amount of very nice papers for the cost. Service is,as always...Solid, but Slightly Sluggish. But I'm overly eager to complain perhaps. I have a long held gripe about excessive shipping costs. When I can get something shipped from the UK for virtually the same cost in close to the same time...something is screwy.
