American Easel WaterMedia Hardboard Panels are designed for artists who demand versatility and surface control in their painting surface. 

Each 1/8"-thick panel is crafted from tempered high-density hardboard, then coated with two layers of acrylic WaterMedia gesso for excellent absorbency and tooth. The sprayed application creates a cold press texture ideal for a variety of water-based media, yet it can be sanded with 220 grit to mimic a hot press surface for detailed work. 

These uncradled panels are lightweight and resistant to warping, making them ideal for both studio and plein air use. Acid-free and archival, they’re perfect for artists working in acrylic, watercolor, gouache, and mixed media techniques.
