This list includes the key products that Jimmy uses in his work AND specifically for what he's teaching in this workshop.  There's some exciting stuff here,  just waiting to be explored!...

__Winsor + Newton Designers Gouache__ -  Gouache is a kind of watercolor that is formulated to be very opaque and to level (or lay very flat and without brushstrokes) when dry.   For this workshop, Jimmy will take advantage of these properties to their fullest! 

__Paper__ -  Jimmy is using a high quality watercolor paper (140lb weight, cold-press) to ensure even application and minimal cockling or buckling.

__Base color__ - Jimmy is using an acrylic ink to create a base layer on which he can build his gouache layers. He's chosen acrylic ink for his base layer because it's fully waterproof when dry and won't lift when subsequent layers are added.

__Brushes__ - The Winsor + Newton Professional Synthetic Sables are a moderately priced alternative to authentic sable. And they'll deliver excellent flow control, spring, and precise application as needed.

__Odds and Ends__ - Jimmy has specified a few miscellaneous supplies on the list: a palette, artist's or painter's tape for masking edges, and a watercolor pencil (in a natural earth tone). He also suggests an optional set of watercolor pencils for use with layout and application with the gouache, if you choose.

__IMPORTANT!__...good quality supplies will enhance your art-making process.  That said, you can certainly still have a great experience with this workshop even if you can't afford all of these products.  Jimmy will be teaching a variety of principles that are applicable when using ANY art-making tools.  So, gather the materials as best you can, knowing that you can always add more later as you’re able.

__For experienced artists - things to make sure that you have on hand (assuming that you already have a reasonable ‘library’ of supplies)__

While we can’t peer into your supply cabinet and make a custom recommendation regarding which of Jimmy's recommended products you’ll need on top of your existing supplies, you WILL want to review the comments above and compare against your existing cache.
