About Mudtools
During his years of working with clay, artist Michael Sherrill often had ideas that required working outside traditional processes. Out of necessity, he began making or modifying tools to suit his requirements. Naturally, when he showcased these tools at workshops, artists showed interest in buying them. Realizing he couldn't make a tool for everyone by himself, Sherrill decided to seek help, leading to the establishment of Mudtools. It started with the rib, a tool made from a material that performed well and improved with use due to its self-polishing properties. Six shapes followed, all designed with the unique needs of hand builders and throwers in mind. Each is available in variations of flexibility, from very soft to very firm, allowing users to choose the shape and hardness that suits their clay and working style. No matter your clay or working style, Mudtools has a wonderful selection of truly indispensable tools with high performance quality.
