Blick Celebrates Grand Opening of Glendale Store

Celebrations Kick Off with Ribbon Cutting on Friday, September 8th

September 8, 2023 | GLENDALE, Arizona – Blick Art Materials, the nation’s leading art supply retailer, is pleased to announce the opening of its newest store at 17520 N. 75th Ave. in Glendale, Arizona. The company will host an official ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11 a.m. on September 8, 2023. Special guests will welcome Glendale’s creative community to the store, with giveaways for the store’s first 100 customers, contests, and events scheduled throughout the day.

Expanding Blick’s presence in the region, the Glendale store is the art supply retailer’s second Arizona location. As part of the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Blick CEO Robert Buchsbaum will present a $2,000 donation to the West Valley Arts Council, a non-profit organization that connects the West Valley’s 13 municipalities with world-class art and cultural experiences.

“Blick is committed to serving Arizona artists,” said Buchsbaum. “Beyond providing an additional source of high-quality art materials, this second store is an opportunity for us to deepen ties within this state’s vibrant artistic community. We look forward to building on existing relationships with organizations like West Valley Arts Council, Arizona Watercolor Association, Arizona Artists Guild, and Sonoran Arts League.”

Blick, a longtime supporter of arts education and community organizations across the country, is purposeful about inviting local and associate artists to enhance its stores. Following Friday’s ribbon-cutting ceremony, the Glendale store will host a book signing with artist, author, and Sketchbook Skool founder Danny Gregory. The event will take place between 1-2:30 p.m. Copies of Gregory’s book, “The Creative License”, will be available.

The new space will feature over 18,000 products, including a selection of unique gifts and local Arizona clay from Marjon Ceramics. Additional highlights include a spray paint wall, pen bar, and custom framing and printing services. The public is invited to explore them during an after-hours VIP event on September 8 starting at 7 p.m. Entry includes access to a live drawing session and private shopping experience with refreshments, music, and giveaways.
