CINCINNATI, Sept. 1, 2026 — Blick Art Materials, the nation’s largest art supply retailer, will celebrate the grand reopening of its renovated Kenwood store with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 10. The celebration will continue with artist demonstrations, giveaways, and prizes, and the first 100 customers in line will receive a complimentary goody bag.
Located at 8118 Montgomery Road in the Kenwood Galleria, the refreshed store serves artists and creators throughout Greater Cincinnati with an expanded assortment of art materials and services. New features include dedicated areas for fine writing and gifts, a pen bar, spray paint wall and paint marker cabinet where customers can explore and compare products in person. Custom framing and canvas stretching services are also available.
Grand reopening programming will include live painting and artist demonstrations Thursday and Saturday. Utrecht Brand Manager and artist Joe Gyurcsak will demonstrate Utrecht Acrylics throughout the day Thursday, with printmaker Stephanie Berrie featured in the morning and Andrea Walker demonstrating Holbein Watercolor & Gouache on Legion Stonehenge papers in the afternoon. Saturday’s programming will include an interactive painting demonstration by Cedric Cox and a watercolor demonstration by Carmen Bauer featuring Daniel Smith Watercolors and Silver Brushes.
The Kenwood reopening follows Blick’s acquisition of Plaza Art in May 2026, marking a new chapter for a store that has long served Cincinnati artists.

As part of the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Blick will present a $1,000 Blick gift card to 1001 Colors, formerly ArtWorks, an arts-based workforce development organization that employs and develops local youth through world-class public art and creative projects. The partnership continues a relationship Kenwood General Manager Linda Littman developed over the years through Plaza Art and ArtWorks, carrying that tradition of community support forward with Blick and 1001 Colors.
