April 2, 2021 | Chicago, Illinois — Blick Art Materials, the nation’s leading provider of art supplies, is celebrating the 110th anniversary of its founding. Now in its third generation of family ownership, Blick offers nearly 100,000 art supplies with products for a wide range of creative needs, from children in educational settings to professional artists. The company operates two distribution centers in Galesburg, Illinois and one in Monroe, New Jersey, with a home office located in Highland Park, Illinois just outside of Chicago.
Established as a mail-order business in Galesburg, the company issued its first catalog in 1911. After early success with materials for advertising, the company later expanded into general art supplies. “We are proud our roots in Galesburg and grateful to the community here for their continued support over the years,” said Blick CEO Robert Buchsbaum. “In celebrating this milestone, we proudly recognize the city of Galesburg as having helped Blick become a leader in the art materials industry. We look toward the future with excitement and optimism.”
Blick will host a series of events throughout the year to celebrate the anniversary. In addition to an April 14th sale at retail stores nationwide, including the outlet store in Galesburg, BLICK has produced exclusive sets in collaboration with leading art brands. Customers will also have the opportunity to participate in an online anniversary trivia contest for a chance to win more than $500 dollars in art supplies from Blick and Utrecht.
