Smooth-Cast 300 is a casting compound consisting of two liquid prepolymers that can be mixed and cured to form a durable plastic.
Smooth-Cast 300 is easy to mix and pour, and it offers the convenience of a one-to-one mix ratio. It readily accepts fillers and can be pigmented. Smooth-Cast 300 is superior for cold cast metal applications. Fully cured castings are tough, durable, machinable, and paintable. They resist moisture and mild solvents.
Smooth-Cast 300 consists of two liquid components, Part A (Yellow Label) and Part B (Blue Label). When combined in a mixing ratio of one to one by volume, Smooth-Cast quickly cures to a solid and durable plastic. Hardness is Shore 70D.
Applications for Smooth-Cast 300 include small to medium size sculptures, prototype models, cold cast bronze, special effect props, decorative jewelry, etc. Package of two 16 oz (.47 L) jars.
Castings can be displayed outdoors after priming and painting. Unpainted castings will yellow over time — more quickly when exposed to ultra-violet light.
Caution — Keep out of reach of children. Smooth-On Liquid Rubber and Liquid Plastics products should be used only under adult supervision. Use with adequate ventilation. The Smooth-Cast 300 prepolymers can cause severe irritation to skin and eyes, and vapors can cause lung damage. Uncured silicone rubber compound can be irritating to the eyes and skin. Remove from skin with soap and water. Flush eyes for 15 minutes and seek medical attention.
Caution — If sanding or machining cured Smooth-Cast 300, wear a dust mask or respirator to prevent inhalation of residual particles.
Note — The shelf life of Smooth-On liquid rubber and liquid plastic compounds is drastically reduced after opening. Remaining product should be used as soon as possible. Replace the lids on both containers immediately after dispensing to prolong the shelf life of the unused product.

This exceptionally hard white liquid plastic casting compound is for creating casts with very fine detail.
It creates an ultra-low viscosity casting resin that yields virtually bubble-free castings in 7-10 minutes, depending on mass and mold configuration.

Comments about Smooth-On Smooth-Cast 300:
I use this resin in my silicone molds and it's always been amazing! Slow enough to get a few castings in but quick enough to where you can pull out of your mold in less than 10 minutes!

This liquid plastic cures very quickly (so quickly that I messed up my first batch and it cured in the cup), so using small batches at a time would've been the way to go. It works well with powder pigment, provided you work fast. Turns out smooth and picks up details well.

I have used smooth cast 300 for casting faces and it is so easy to work with. 1:1 ratio makes it easy to mix and it sets up quickly which is great for impatient artists like me. Dries hard and is easy to sand.

Exactly what it promises

I find the foolproof 50/50 mixing ratio to be incredible convenient as I need to mix several smaller batches when using - and I have yet to get it wrong! (and that is very impressive as I'm good at doing stuff wrong) This is the best product I've found yet for my use, where I brush on the small batches in stead of pouring them into a mold. It gives off a small amount of heat when mixed and drying - but does not give off any bad smelling fumes. The product is also incredible durable! the items I make is usually just 0.2 inches wide but can handle being thrown around. Also; Wear disposable gloves when handling this product - I did not and I've been picking dried resin off my hands for the last 3 days. (it did not harm my skin in any way - but man does it stick!)

Smooth Cast 300 is a Great Product!
By Super Happy Figure Guy
I picked up this product to reproduce small-scale replicas for tabletop gaming, and Smooth-On 300 was an amazing choice. After looking around online for similar products, all I kept finding was how amazing Smooth-On's products were. I decided to jump in and buy a the smallest kit available. The product is incredibly easy to use. It's odorless, so you can use it in a workshop inside a house, or garage, without worry. Most of all, it creates an incredibly durable solid piece of plastic. I've tested a large number of my casts, dropping them at different heights, seeing how much damage they can withstand. For the pieces I'm working with, 15 feet drop, and still together.I've created about three dozen small replicas and I'm still barely halfway through my kit. As long as you purchase a strong mold-making product, your casts with 300 will be fantastic.
