I have been looking for a "Folding" Watercolor Palette and was excited when I read about the Mijello "Bullet Proof Glass Watercolor Palette". A Palette made of glass should be superior to the thin metal or plastic models on the market. It turns out that the "Bullet Proof GLASS Watercolor Palette" has NONE, ZERO, NO GLASS in it. IT IS ALL PLASTIC. How this manufacturer gets away with this LIE is a huge surprise. What ever happened to Truth In Advertising???!!! The design of the palette is acceptable but the very fact of being lied to "Really sticks in my Craw".

I think this entire thing is made of plastic not sure if it's ABS plastic or whatever. I was using a butcher tray for mixing but it's kinda awkward to have this big heavy thing that doesn't have any wells. I love all the wells in this thing you can use either side as the bottom or top. Using this with a Japanese waterbrush makes watercolors fun and fast.

I've only used it for a few days, and so far so good. However, be forewarned though that it is NOT glass, but plastic. It's probably a different variety of plastic that resists staining and is more durable, though don't expect glass when you order it. Aside from the name confusion, the palette serves as an OK addition to your supplies. It's not particularly stylish on the outside (Basic gray plastic, "bubbly," not sleek exterior) but it does have a good number of wells and a nice mixing area.

That palette, so far, stays true to it's creed. The colors show up true, and even after they're dry, it can be cleaned off without staining. Because it's plastic, though, and because I'm a bit of a pessimist I will make the prediction it will eventually stain. Though I hope it resists it for a good amount of time.

The size and weight are also good for the size and the number of wells + space you get. Overall, it's fine. It just lacks those extra flairs for you to be able to admire it for craftsmanship.

I love this palette! It is large, easy to clean and does not stain. My only complaint is the clasp, as mentioned below. It is a bit difficult to open, but it is something in which I can easily ignore.

What I like most is that when I lay down paint, or mix colors, I can clean it up without leaving a "shadow" behind. On the other hand, it does not seem like glass at all. But if it continues to work well, I would recommend it. It's light, and smallish, but holds plenty of paint. The only drawback is that for some reason, it is not as easy to open as you might think - not sure why, tho. You need two hands, rather than just a thumb and forefinger to open it.

I just got my "bullet proof glass" pallette and am very suspicious of it. It is not glass, but actually is plastic. My fear is that the plastic will take on the color of the paint, and not wash out clear again. (I've had plastic before).

I looked up "bullet proof glass" and it is a layer of special plastic layered between 2 layers of glass.... so maybe this is good stuff. I'll let you know after I've used it, in a day or two. If it holds the color stain after it is cleaned up, I am going to be mad but not surprised.
