Handcrafted by the Amish of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, these beautiful, lightweight wood palettes are inspired by traditional techniques and made of the finest materials.
The first truly ergonomic hand-held palettes, New Wave Palettes feature a unique patent pending three-point design, evenly distributing the weight between the hand, arm, and torso/hip. The design significantly reduces shoulder, arm, and hand fatigue, allowing you to paint with ease. The delicate grain lines in the hard white maple won't distract during mixing, and the highly durable satin finish is resistant to water, solvents, mediums, yellowing, cracks, and freezing temperatures.
Each palette is individually inspected.
Compact, comfortable, and conversational, the Expressionist Confidant is perfect for artists who desire a smaller “go to” palette in their studio. It provides ample surface area for laying out your paints and mixing them in the upper or lower quadrant, as well as an open hand grasp to hold paintbrushes or a mahl stick. The Expressionist Confidant is ideal for finishing or detail work because its design allows artists to work extremely close to the canvas. Available in a left-handed or right-handed version, it measures 20-1/2" × 16" × 1/5" and weighs 15 oz.
Grand View Confidant
The Grand View Confidant is brilliant for artists who prefer working with a mid-sized palette. With smooth lines and a classic appearance, the Grand View Confidant permits ample space for an assortment of colors and sufficient space for mixing. It features a closed hand grasp with an opening large enough to hold your paintbrushes or a mahl stick. Available in a left-handed or right-handed version, it measures 22-1/4" × 18" × 1/5" and weighs 20 oz.
The Highland is the first ergonomically designed plein air palette. It provides soft curves and a compact size that fits into many landscape boxes or backpacks, making it extremely portable. Available in a left-handed or right-handed version, it measures 16" × 11" x 1/5" and weighs 11 oz.

Comments about New Wave Art Wood Palettes:
I used the large bob Ross acrylic pallet in the past. This one feels better on my wrist. I cane hold it for hours, and it doesn't bug me.

This is a beautiful palette that will last you a lifetime. I expected good quality for the price but the product exceeded my expectations once I started using it. The finish is great and the surface polishes nicely when rubbed with walnut oil.
Extremely high quality for a pretty penny
I own the Grand View and the High Land. I originally got the High Land and loved the smooth, easy to clean surface, and it fit perfectly in my travel box. I bought the Grand View on impulse, and while it is great, I wished it was more spacious. It's pretty comfortable to hold, and if someone wanted a top of the line, Made in the US palette, I'd say go for it, but also ask yourself why you couldn't use a piece of prepared glass to paint on. It'd cost less than $50, for sure.

When I put the "Highland" palette on my arm it was love at first embrace. The most comfortable palette I ever used and the craftsmanship screams quality. It's just beautiful! ^_^

Love the Highland!
Wonderful design and top quality materials. The best I've used. The only downside is if you are one of those painters that forgets to clean their palette, the cost can be a little hard to swallow a second time. However, make no mistake, it's worth every penny if a high quality palette is what you're after. I appreciate the fact that the Highland fits perfectly in my Julian Portable Easel and my other paintbox.A highly recommended buy!

I am excited to see that these palettes are being sold by Dick Blick! I have been using the Expressionist Confidant for a few months and love it. Extremely comfortable, lightweight, beautifully finished, and so easy to clean. Best of all, I don't experience the thumb and wrist pain that was usual with my old palette. I highly recommend New Wave palettes!!
