The Masterson Sta-Wet Super Pro Palette is a patented, multi-purpose palette designed to preserve the freshness of acrylics or watercolors for days, even weeks.
It begins with a strong, airtight, plastic tray and lid. Depending on the medium you are using, one piece will be the tray and one piece will be the lid. One piece has a recessed area measuring 14½" × 10" (37 cm × 25 cm). Use this piece on the bottom when you are painting with acrylics. The other piece has multiple wells and mixing areas. Use this piece on the bottom when you are painting with watercolors.
For acrylics, use the patented sponge insert and special permeable palette paper (both included). Together they provide acrylic paints with a constant source of moisture. Simply moisten the sponge and lay it inside the tray, then place the palette paper on top. When the lid is open, your paints will have an extended open time. When the lid is snapped shut, the Super Pro Palette will maintain a moist atmosphere that preserves acrylic paints amazingly well. (For best results, use only Sta-Wet brand palette paper, which is permeable, cleanable, and reusable.)
For watercolors, simply remove the paper and sponge.
Made in the USA of tough yet lightweight plastic, the Masterson Sta-Wet Super Pro Palette measures 1¾"H × 15½"W × 11½"D (4.5 cm × 39 cm × 29 cm) overall.
It comes with five Sta-Wet palette paper sheets and one sponge insert. Replacement sheets and sponge inserts are also sold separately.

Good solution for me.

Comments about Masterson Super Pro Palette:
I have three other Mastersons - two Premiers and a Painter Pal - and a Guerrilla backpacking palette I use as a Masterson by trimming down the sponge and paper to fit for plein air. This one is just slightly smaller in area than the Premier, a little shallower (which makes knife painting a bit easier), and I agree with others that the lid (which could serve as a watercolor palette) goes on and comes off more easily than the Premier, while providing an adequate seal. I'm thinking of using this for plein air by attaching it to my Eric Michael plein air tray (which fits on a tripod) with velcro. It's flat bottom will accommodate that, whereas the Premier's scaffolded bottom would not.

I love this palette! I've used it for years, in fact, I can't imagine painting without it. Days later, my acrylic palette is still good to go. It is so easy to use. There is no need for new paint every time I sit down.
Excellent Product! I would definitely recommend it !
Excellent with acrylics! Keeps my paint usable for weeks longer than normal. Saves money!
I use this to store my oils in my freezer to make them last
This stays closed better than the old one I had with a blue cover!
Would like more mixing space for water oils
By An Elder
The mixing space is not as large as the other product I work with and I like to mix on grey paper. It is easier to remove the lid than my other product. If I can find grey paper this size, I will be very happy.
Saves Acrylic Paints from Drying
from South Carolina
I'm very happy with the product and would recommend it to others.
I've only had this palette a month and am still trying to control the moisture that is liquefying my paints when it sits for any length of time. It is a delicate balance between not so wet and the paper drying. I also find the palette paper gets stained and I like a clean palette at the start of each painting session.
A 'MUST HAVE' FOR ACRYLIC PAINTERS!
I lay out my palette of colors in the same order so my brush can move and 'dance ' on its own at times. Both the individual color blobs and the mixes around them stay moist and brushable for days ! To clean up the mixes I use paper towel and wipe the area clean,Even the smeared color mixes stay moist and usable ...no matter how small or thin.I no longer have dried pieces of paint to scrape up ...or dried , unusable mixes the following day. After a painting session I snap on the Stay Wet palette lid and the moist sponge under the paper keeps the paint moist and ready for the next painting time. Sometimes days later!

This is the third time you have asked me for a Review..........I need to paint for a show! Why do you not read what I have written.Love these two palettes and because of the intense dry heat in Arizona, will use both!
Worth the money

When I paint, sometimes I require mixed acrylic colors to last over time. This prevents me from having to go back, remember the formula I used, and mix it again. The sta wet pallette has saved me so much time and money.I liked it so much, I bought a second one, in order for me to save many color formulas until my painting is completed. It is a little pricey but so worth the money.I highly recommend these pallettes.
