Comments about Blick Covered Palette:
I'd prefer if it had a more snug fit. The size works out well and the construction is good for what it is. Its about half an inch 2/3 of an inch deep. The depth isn't listed on many of the pallets, especially the covered ones. I'd say that info is important. I haven't had much of an issue of cleaning the pallets out when I'm done using them, and it's less messy than using tinfoil covers or ziplock bags (bags are the worst). The pallet saved me the money I spent on it after one use for a painting. I also use a damp sponge in the corners to keep the paint moist.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Great palette for oils
from Camino, CA
I am taking classes in oil painting and I practice at home. This is at great way to store my palette oils and has ample space for mixing colors.
Just what I wanted
from Neptune, NJ
The palette is big; which is what I wanted, but light weight. Clearly it is for the enthusiast, and someone who wants immediate access to 22 colors.

I use it for watercolors. It's a bit flimsy and some what unstable. I do like the deep wells in the palette where I can mix my colors.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

This is my second purchase of this particular palette. The reason is simple! It keeps dust out and keeps the paints a tad bit wet. I use it when I buy tube pain sets and I love the wells because I can just put my paints (in the order of correct colors) in it and I don't have to look for a particular color. It's sort of like a color wheel, but rectangle. I immediately fill the wells with my new tubes. I don't like having to paint out of the tube (it's was a beginner thing way back) and with this palette I don't have to anymore. Many people would advise not to squeeze out all the tubes but since it's watercolors it really doesn't matter. I love the large mixing section in that dominates most of the palette. It makes it easy to mix the colors I need without getting them muddy. This palette is definitely worth having. It's worth having multiple ones too!! Get one for each watercolor set you buy so you don't mix brands. It'll help you see which is the best paints for you. Win/win!!

I purchased watercolor brushes, a pallette and masking fluid and I'm very happy with the items I purchased. They arrived very quickly. There was a great assortment of products to choose from and easy to find on the website. I'm very satisfied with everything I purchased and the overall transaction.

Blick watercolor palette

I haven't really had a chance to use this palette yet, but it does have nice big wells for holding the paint and a large mixing area. From having used other palettes I believe this one is right up there at the top of the list.

Do Not Use With Acrylics
from Washington, D.C.
I bought a bunch of these to use with my high school students, but after the first time using them with acrylic paint, we realized that cleaning them was very difficult. Most of the paint will not wash off. It did keep the paint moist, but when it came time to clean them, the paint would not come off the plastic. I ended up using them with aluminum foil in the middle; my students would put the paint on the aluminum foil and use the covers to keep the paint moist over several days. Otherwise, it was a bust.
