The Masterson Sta-Wet Premier Palette saves you paint, money, and time by preserving the freshness of acrylics and other waterbased paints, both while you are painting and between painting sessions. Paints will stay moist on the open palette for hours. Once the lid is closed, the paints will stay in workable condition for days, even weeks.
The Premier Palette features a patented sponge insert and special permeable palette paper. Together they provide acrylic paints with a constant source of moisture. Simply moisten the sponge and lay it inside the tray, then place the palette paper on top. When the lid is open, your paints will have an extended open time. When the lid is snapped shut, the Premier Palette will maintain a moist atmosphere that preserves acrylic paints amazingly well. (For best results, use only Sta-Wet brand palette paper, which is permeable, cleanable, and reusable.)
Made in the USA of tough yet lightweight plastic, the Masterson Sta-Wet Premier Palette measures 1¾"H × 16"W × 12"D (4.5 cm × 40 cm × 30 cm).
The Premier Palette comes with five Sta-Wet palette paper sheets and one sponge insert. Replacement sheets and sponge inserts are also sold separately.

The only palette paper for acrylics
from Athens, OH
Comments about Masterson Sta-Wet Premier Palette:
I use the Sta-Wet Palette with acrylic paints and the palette seal with oils. I had a piece of safety glass cut for the oils for a strong, smooth surface. It's easy to clean with a paint scraper, no palette paper needed.I have tried other palette papers with the acrylics but the others are really designed for oils. Acrylics dry out on them because of the coating which keeps oils from seeping through. As far as I'm concerned, Sta-Wet papers are the only ones for acrylics. I don't use the sponge. I put four layers of wet paper towels underneath instead. I used to pre-soak the paper according to the instructions but I now skip that step. I just lay the dry sheet on the wet paper towels and it's wet in just a couple of minutes. It works great. I put my paints along two sides and mix in the middle. I paint almost everyday. When I'm through painting I spray the paper where I mix and wipe it with a paper towel a couple of times. The next day I'm ready to paint. One palette paper usually lasts me over a month so it's very economical. The only problem I ever have with this method is if I don't paint for 3 or 4 days the acrylics will mold so if you're an occasional painter you'll need to open the palette to give it fresh air every couple of days or start with a new paper. If you have trouble sealing the palette just get the corners on first then the sides will seal. It can be difficult at first but with use it loosens up a little and one day you'll realize you don't have a problem with it any more.

Best Product 2016
I just discovered this product while attending an acrylics class this year. Not only does it save your acrylic paints and keeps them moist, it also is easy to transport. The sponge and paper that you soak in water before use last a very long time before needing to be replaced. It works well with acrylic mediums, watercolor paint, and oils!I have had a hard time finding "oil palette paper" by this company but it does exist.I just use the acrylic paper and it works fine. This is my favorite new product this year.
Loved the product!
from Clearwater Fl
Love that the tray keeps the paint workable for several days
A great product, good value -- I like it a lot!
The premier palette comes with one sponge (washable) insert and 5 permeable paper inserts...cleanable and resusable. The sponge holds water which permeates the paper, keeping the acrylics from drying out while in use and moist for (a long time) when closed. Have been using it on my current painting which I started a month ago and paints are still totally moist. Suggestion for improvement - package the directions in a 'read me first' envelope -- mine got mixed in with the packing/sales materials shipped with it. Consequently I didn't find them until after I had already guessed at how to prep the sponge and paper (which I didn't do correctly but worked anyway). This box is NOT water tight so you can't carry it sideways (noted in directions). Also it MUST BE KEPT LEVEL or else the paints will run -- that WAS NOT mentioned in the directions. I placed mine in the car trunk at an angle and the paints ran off the paper and down onto the sponge...not a major issue, but messier than I would have liked.I purchased an extra pack of paper (30 sheets) but don't think I'll need them for months.
The Best Palette for Acrylics

I am new to acrylics, after using oils and watercolors. My paint kept drying up while I was using it and there was no way to store left over mixed paint. This palette satisfies both my needs. It keeps it moist as I am painting and stores it neatly, without it drying up. The sponge is reusable and so is the paper. The paper can be washed off and then reused. The sponge can even be put into the washer!! I am very happy with my purchase!!!!!!

I personally would prefer to have a custom piece of glass cut for this instead of having to buy new acrylic paper every time. But for the concept of keeping paint fresh, it works! You just really need to make sure the sponge is always wet as well as the paper, or the paint will dry up.

I needed a pallet that would do two things1. Keep the unused paint fresher longer2. Have a large enough surface to use both brushes and palette knives This product does both for me.PS?..I have another one of these in my other painting location which is inaccessible to me at this time.Janet Robbins

The best what else can you say. Life is busy. Seal it up and be on your way. Pick up where you left off the next day. Replace the sheets with cheap plastic type vellum. The one I am using is absorbent. Sorry, did not save the info. Purchased from Staples.
i would buy this product again
