PURCHASED THIS FOR MY GRANDSON FOR CHRISTMAS. I OPENED UP THE BOX AND FOUND THIS EASEL TO BE VERY WELL CONSTRUCTED, NO ASSEMBLY REQUIRED AND VERY STURDY. I KNOW THAT HE WILL BE USING THIS FOR YEARS.

IT WAS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED BY HIS ART INSTRUCTOR WHO PURCHASED THE SAME FOR HER ART STUDIO. YOU JUST CAN'T GO WRONG WITH THAT KIND OF A RECOMMENDATION!

I purchased this easle for my college aged daughter for xmas.[...]We were all really pleased when she opened the box. It is very attractive and easy to set up out of the box. I was surprised it was so nice at such a reasonable price.

I've had a Shannon easel for over 5 years now and have absolutely no complaints. For the price point, it is an excellent easel. The moving parts are simple enough that they don't break or become difficult to work with during regular use. It holds a set position well. It accommodates a sufficient variety of canvas sizes to satisfy the vast majority of student painters. It's also easy to put away should the need arise- but it's small enough that I've rarely needed to put it away even in small apartment. It's been moved three times without a problem (Just tuck it under your arm and toss it in the moving truck!) and it's light/balanced enough that I have no problems moving it around the house even though it's taller than I am. As a bonus- the brush nook is just the right size to hold my iPhone for listening to music while I paint. :)

If the last 5 years are any indication- it will still be a sturdy and serviceable easel if my kids choose to paint 15+ years from now.

The only downside to the easel is that it is what it is. A simple H-Frame easel. There are no fancy attachments (although you can add some- I've added a clamp light), no bells or whistles. It's a student easel in the sense that a professional might want something more fancy- and would be willing to pay for the extra... not because it's a lesser quality.
