Great Easel for the money and excellent customer service!
from Hartville, OH
Comments about Blick Studio Heavy-Duty H-Frame Easel:
I'm a professional artist painting in oils and pastels. I needed a good easel for my studio, but I didn't want to spend thousands of dollars. I read the reviews on this easel and decided to order it. When it came, I had it almost assembled before realizing a part was missing! I called Blick Customer Service and let them know about the problem. I suggested they just send me the missing part. To my delight, it came within 3 days! It's all assembled now...love the easel. The directions are a little lacking, but they did include the screwdrivers needed for the job. All in all, I'm very pleased...a great buy for the money!!

great easel fantastic customer service
from Smyrna, TN
A few months ago I bought the blick heavy duty easel. It arrived very quickly, but had 2 small cracks in the masts. I called Blick's customer service number and explained the problem. The young lady explained that I may have to send the entire easel back and have it replaced. Since I already had it almost together I really didn't want to go that route. She said she understood and would do all she could to get just the damaged masts replaced. A couple days later they arrived. I love this easel. For the price you can't beat it. It's very sturdy and versitle. However it was the customer service that compelled me to buy another this past month, and I will continue to use blick for my art supplies for the same reason.
I ABSOLUTELY Love My Easel
from Sandpoint, Idaho
The easel was well marked and easy to put together. Very sturdy and doesn't move when I'm painting. It was a great purchase. I'm still excited about buying it.

High Quality - Low Price
By Uncle Timbo
The four-star review is for the easel itself, which is made of solid, high-quality materials and is very well built. Ultimately that is what your paying for. I recommend keeping a power drill handy due to the somewhat shoddy placement of the pre-drilled holes. The instructions, as you've undoubtedly read, are frustrating. That said, as long as you're not in a rush to assemble the easel then with a little patience you'll have it put together in an hour or so. At least that was the case with me. Save your money and go with the Blick, you won't regret it.

Great easel at a great price
from Edinburgh, Scotland, UK
This is great solid easel. I assembled it myself in just over an hour. It went together well although it may help to have another pair of hands to attach the main posts to the base. I rubbed a wax candle on the post runners to help the tray slide up and down more smoothly as it sticks at first. I had this shipped to the UK via FedEx and it arrived in 4 days! Very happy with the service.

Review of Heavy Duty H-Frame Easel and IAssembly Instruction
from Foxboro, MA
The quality of the materials (species of wood and brass hardware)making up the easel assembly are top grade. The written material (i.e. instructions)was not. The instructions were OK for someone who had previous experience assembling the easel, but of little value for someone assembling one for the first time. The diagrams were puerile. The easel was not inexpensive and I would have been willing to pay an additional %5.00-$10.00 for written instructions of a superior quality. In summation I would rate the easel an "A+"; The graphics and instructions I would rate an "F".
Outstanding and Versatile Easel
from Mill Valley, CA
Love this easel...very easy to adjust, so whether you sit or stand while painting, this easel will be great. I put it together by myself (some reviewers have stated that it was difficult without a helping hand, but I didn't find that to be the case at all). Very solid construction. Easy to maneuver due to the provided casters. Also love the double mast system in case you have multiple canvases of differing sizes. Highly recommend, especially for the price!
All's well that ends well

I had some problems with a defective part and then understanding how it worked after I replaced the part. I worked with your customer service and products specialists who were all very helpful and great to deal with. I also contacted the management at Blicks in Lincoln Park (Denise) who was also very helpful.

Solid and you can't beat the price
from Strasburg, CO
Overall, I am one happy chappy with this easel. It is just perfect for large panel paintings.A few nits:• It is a bit tricky to slide the carriage tray up and down. You need strong fingers to pull the catches out and move the tray.• The screw holes on the tray did not line up with the holes in the masts. I needed to redrill the countersink holes. Not a big deal if you're a little handy.• The carriage tray required a little glue to hold it together. One the plus side:• Great price! A definite value.• You can move the whole thing quite easily with the casters.• It is solid. I've never come close to tipping it over even when I've got a large panel mounted off-center.-----I had no trouble with the assembly instructions. The various parts were labeled clearly and the instructions easy to follow. And all the hardware was included! It arrived very quickly -- five days from when I placed my order by telephone. I started to order online, but stopped when I saw the URL was not secure when it got to the point of entering credit card info (no "https" in the address bar.)
