I created a watercolor seascape and mounted the 6x8 paper on mat board (using archival bookbinder adhesive). Someone fell in love with it before I could even photograph the result, so I will have to make another! The mounted work really shows well with the feather deckle edge.

This paper is fantastic, and so was the price. It takes my watercolors VERY well, and looks lovely with Indian Ink outlines. I will absolutely purchase this again.

This is an update to my previous post. First of all, Blick contacted me and asked me if I wanted a refund. This was totally a move of good faith on their part, so one huge "atta boy!" goes out to them.

I elected to try the paper again, this time treating it more gently. I still really like the texture and feel of the paper. That was never an issue. The problem arises when you try to remove paint or masking fluid from it. A couple of suggestions.

First, don't soak the paper for more than 60 seconds before stretching. It removes too much sizing.

Second, if you are trying to lift a color off the paper, be very gentle. No using a china bristle brush and no scrubbing, ever. The paper bruises very easily.
Third, in removing pencil marks from dry paper, you can of course, be a little more aggressive, but still I would suggest a kneadable eraser.

If you're willing to be gentle, the paper won't disappoint. It does have a lovely texture and feel to it.

This paper is a dream to work on. It takes a scrubbing, you can lift color easily, it holds water nicely for wet-on-wet techniques. Sketching on this paper is great because pencil marks lift easily without leaving any indintation marks. It is also beautiful when mounted with its rough decle edge.

I bought this paper and saved it for a special painting. It's expensive (but I would use anyway) and didn't want to use it unless I had something really awesome to paint. I used a masking fluid to cover some areas of the painting then after painting around the mask, I attempted to remove the mask with a gum rubber eraser as I always do. Imagine my horror when the masking fluid stuck so well to the paper that the paper delaminated! Such a waste of time and money. The paper is beautiful and has a lovely texture, just don't use masking fluid on it.
