Papers are synthetically sized both internally and externally so that no animal by-products are used. Suitable for all water media, printmaking, digital printing, charcoal, pastel, and other drawing applications.
Sheets are 22" × 30" (559 mm × 762 mm) with two natural deckled edges and two cut edges.

Resilient and Smooth for Colored Pencil Drawings
from Pemberton, NJ
Comments about Fabriano Artistico Extra White Watercolor Paper:
I purchased the Extra White Fabriano Artisticico paper for my colored-pencil work. I ordered the hot press for a smoother texture, which is better for this particular medium. This is versus the cold press, which has a deeper tooth/texture bump to the paper. I could have used either one, I suppose, but it's all a matter of the overall texture that I'm trying to achieve in a completed piece. For me personally, the smoother the better, therefore hot press is a better choice here,Fabriano Artitico watercolor paper can take many different kinds of layered graphite, pencil, or marker, but its absolutely fantastic for colored-pencil!It is tough, which means that layering wax-based colored-pencils, graphite, crayon, paint, or marker on top does not result in the final piece tearing, bleeding through, or falling apart.Even when I'm burnishing parts of my hues together, the Fabriano Hard Press Watercolor Paper seems impervious to the force of applying pencil points firmly upon the surface. In water-soluble colored pencils and other wet media, the Fabriano Artistico watercolor paper will dry flat and resist bubbling if mounted correctly to an artboard first. In conclusion, is worth the higher price tag. I have no complaints.

The best watercolor paper ever
I have used Arches for the last 6+ years. I love Arches, but I decided to give this paper a try. It exceeded all of my expectations! It is very durable. It allows me to use masking fluid without arming the paper when I take it up. It is beautiful.

The paper arrived earlier than expected and packaged very well. Good quality I use all the time in my watercolor classes.

What is NOT to LOVE?
from Portales, NM
I don't even know how someone would not adore this product. I enjoy a number of the Fabriano papers for different art projects, including bookmaking. These large sheets of watercolor paper are great because I can cut them to the specific sizes I need for individual projects and then mount them as I wish. This paper does not roll or pill and carries water well.

I don't like that the brand name is stamped on one of the papers where I'll be painting. It's going to show through and there are only two pieces of paper in the pack.

Paper that can take a lot of manipulation.

I was wary of paying the price until I began to experiment on it using colored pencils, airbrush, water soluble graphite, odorless paint thinner, battery operated erasers, kneadable eraser and more. No matter what instrument you use this watercolor paper can take it. I don't have issues with warping or buckling and I recommend making a small book from the paper so you can reference exactly which techniques you can use with it regarding the project. I really like this for the colored pencils I use and you can use a bone folder, tear it down to size, make a book and not waste one inch of this paper. Your technique book will look gorgeous too.I haven't used a wide range of watercolor papers but find the grain of this hot press is perfect for several layers of colored pencil, watercolor pencil, and airbrush paint while keeping it's fine tooth. Both the Traditional White and Extra White Hot Press look and perform as a top of the line product. When you look at what it's made of then it's no surprise and Fabriano is quality, so I'm glad I purchased it. It's archival quality so use it to keep your work preserved. I really like the fact that it comes in rolls too, so I'll be purchasing a roll later. I definitely would recommend this to anyone wanting to use it for colored pencil blending techniques, watercolor, airbrush, and water soluble graphite. I'll bet it works well with water soluble crayons but I only have the white Neocolor II crayon as part of a project and I haven't used it on this paper since it's white. I'm really satisfied with this paper and am glad it's not "all the same" as I hear some people complain about watercolor papers. I usually get stuck with the coarse cold press when what I really needed was hot press so I'm really glad I purchased tried this paper. There is no local store that carries this watercolor paper either, and since it's a professional grade product the hobbyist stores probably won't have it. Well worth the price and if you aren't sure, order a small block to experiment with. You'll be glad you did. I purchased a larger size because other people doing similar work wouldn't stop raving about Fabriano Watercolor Paper and I loved the way their work looks on it. This paper is high quality and consistent regardless of what you do to it so they have won over a new customer.
So glad to find this paper
I am a watercolor artist. I have always used arches paper, which is great. This however is better! Give it a try - worth the money.
Amazing as always

You can't go wrong with this paper. Amazing for watercolor and ink. Nuff said.

Thrilled to have so much beautiful paper. I use it for individual water colors and for artists books.Because it comes rolled it takes some time and patience to flatten it. I put smaller book pages in my press and for larger work I will soak it first. Something so pleasing about great paper. It makes the drawing. painting and printing better.Soft Erasor likes it too.
